Hi! Not quite - that would be a full on Flip-fluid sim which we do not currently support. Though we have had users who successfully managed to combine the Ocean with a pre-baked alembic flip fluid sim. The user did a breakdown of this process here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZSZi2qsp7Cmb80

great job on the frame independency and optimization will be grabbing it would love to see a feature that can add discoloration from UV hits (bloody animal walks into water and discolors it)

You could probably use a decal and scale it as the blood spreads through the water

can ultra dynamic weather affect the ocean? I'd love the ability to sync certain presets perhaps with stormy to go with stormy weather and calm waves for a sunny day, for example

The 2K resolution looks GREAT! Love the idea of framerate locking, especially for us rendering in 24fps. So efficient! and material function based buoyancy 😍 great work!

Odd question but... does it work with Nvidia's Caustics branch of Unreal using Nvidia's runtime water caustics and reflection caustics?

Hi! This isn't something we've tested with, so we aren't sure. But have a look at our latest WaterlinePRO 5.2 trailer where we have our own real-time caustic solutions for our Ocean Actor ;)

Cool! Can I suggest adding a example map use UE5 atmosphere environment with sky light, fog and clouds? It always takes a lot of tweaking when waterline is added to new map, I'd love to see your parameters with default atmosphere.

Hi! We do have several of demo maps that use the default UE5 sky and atmosphere, these are the Volumetric Fog map, the Caustics map and the Ocean map - we haven't got anything with Volumetric Clouds specifically though, but results are generally the same.

We already do have some coastline VFX, but will also be improving them in the future :)

Is there any support for water exclusion zones/holes.... for instance the displaced area inside the hull of a boat, an area underwater like an underwater habitat etc.... This product looks awesome BTW... i have my finger poised on the buy button (I assume this completely replaces the UE water system right?)

Hi! We have a hole material that when placed on a mesh will draw a hole in the water surface - we use it in our current boat actor. It's limitation at the moment is that if the camera intersects the mesh the water surface will be visible again. On top of that we have box volumes that will disable the underwater VFX when the camera enters them. These are temporary solutions for the time being but they can resolve most use cases - we will have something a lot more elegant and robust coming in a future update. As for the Unreal Water system - ours is completely independent from it :D

Hi! Generally everything that generates ripples will generate foam - so you can set your object to always generate ripples. Though a better way would be use WaterStamp and place a decal like foam actor around your object :)

Great, but when will you update the water volume? To make large cubical scenes with the ocean (like diorama for offshore projects, etc).

Hi! It is on our list of things to do - mainly because this functionality will a part of something bigger. It might not be in the next update (we do have plans for a smaller one soon) but it is very much on the to do list :)

Hi! As of our latest update we have limited support for PT some VFX like foam may not look as expected at the moment as the PT is a completely different rendering pipeline that displays shaders in it's own way. Worry not however as we are working on a more complete PT support on our next update!

Looks great! How well does this work with a boat motoring through high storm waves? I need to have the wake, but also the bow of the ship going over high waves and creating a splash each time it smacks the water. Thoughts? Examples? Ideas? thank you! ~Mike

Hi! This is more in the field of particle VFX which is not something that is currently a part of this asset. It is possible to sample wave height and generate these effects though ;)

@@mikes5079 Hi! You should be able to do this in Niagara - you can have particles whose position gets changed based on the Ocean Displacement render target, the particle position will then effectively be wave height :)

Hi! It can be! We've got a ton of VFX which are optional and have a bunch of quality settings for each, so we can cover anything from animation to real-time projects :) We will be making new downloadable demo projects with UE5 as the current ones are from UE4.27 so you can get a better idea of the performance of the asset.
