I wonder whether this Dr. was doing a comparison of the two oral irrigators or just trying to promote the Sonicare. Sonicare is Philip's recent oral irrigator model while the Waterpik Classic water flosser has been in the market for over ten years. The more recent Waterpik flosser models, such as Aquarius or Aquarius Professional, which are less expensive than Sonicare, give higher water pressure than the classic model and also have the massage /pulse feature. Waterpik Aquarius flosser also comes with more floss tips than Sonicare for different dental needs.

Yeah Sonicare was the brand of my previous water flosser, but it started having problems with its battery. It just won't charge so I replaced it with an Oclean W10 and after comparing the price I just wished I didn't buy from Sonicare to save my self some money.

Hi. Do you think these can remove pre covid plaque? I have never run down a single dental office ever due to fear of dentist and cost. Not looked for new dentist since moving in 2020 either and last place was not a keeper. Considering getting such a device to try and Get cleaner teeth and better gums. Thank you for the fun part with your assistent.😊 I can Answer myself, no it seems not. Certainly did not see what might resemble improvement when i got my flosser yesterday. I have less options on mine, But i bled at once, so it is strong and gums not completely Healthy, But a week of use might fix that. So as long as one do not worry about the blood. That will go away. Tried it Now after breakfast, it did clean out some food in the sink. Need to Practice to Get more hang of it

You'd have to work on it for at least a month for your gums to heal from bleeding. Also try oil pulling and salt water rinses.

What do you think about the Hydrofloss irrigator? I’ve heard it helps break up plaque due to magnetizing the water
@antibrevity2 жыл бұрын
I've used a Hydrofloss daily for more than a decade and it's just now starting to leak, so I'm shopping for a replacement. Do not blindly accept the Hydrofloss marketing as their "polarizing" technology just means that there's a magnet in the handle (that's why it's larger than handles from other brands). I'm quite serious as I've had the unit apart multiple times and know how it works. They literally patented a small magnet in the handle. Also, some other irrigators will allow the use of salt water, but the Hydrofloss will leak immediately as salt dissolves the grease used on the pump piston. Learn from my mistake; DO NOT run salty water through a Hydrofloss. The instructions DO warn against doing this, so I don't blame the company for this. Also, the Hydrofloss written instructions vary *dramatically* from their (old) video marketing, which used actors in lab coats to make outrageous claims. This misleads patients to use the product incorrectly, as is often the case with "TV" marketing. The fact that they spent money on such "fake" video production pretending to involve scientists in a high-tech laboratory makes me highly suspicious of the company. The video content also claimed that Hydrofloss *replaces* regular flossing, but my experience showed otherwise (plaque began building up) and my dentist agreed that this is absolutely not true; you must still do string flossing and/or use gum brushes. Hydrofloss came up with a business strategy whereby they don't have to compete on store shelves with other brands, but are instead sold through dentists, apparently by offering them a nice margin. Hydrofloss thus costs more than twice as much as its competitors. Convenient, no? The one advantage of the extra cost is that my dentist will replace any Hydrofloss that fails, though I have not yet tested whether he'll still do so after a decade ;). If you really believe that the magnet is helping to remove plaque, glue a small, but strong, magnet to the hose or handle of your waterpik or sonicare. Seriously. The Hydrofloss is admittedly of good quality as a single unit has lasted me well over a decade, but the magnet reeks of pseudoscience, the unit costs a lot more than competitors, and it is destroyed by a cup of salt water. These devices simply squirt water from a nozzle and most use a cheap, loud pump to do so. There is no magical difference between them so long as they offer well-designed tips and are built to last. I now see a lot of battery-powered crap on Amazon from brands I've never heard of and which are shipped directly from China, but any oral irrigator from a reputable brand should do fine. Hydrofloss works fine, but so do the others.

dont think so, ive been using sonicare 7000 for 3 months yet it stays in my tooth.
