Chet was the master! The picker that made me pick up the guitar at 10 years old, 45 years ago! I'm still playin! Thanks Chet, for planting that seed, so long ago👍. R.I.P.

@@denisjl100 exactly this man, Vince, writes his songs, sing his songs, and plays (on guitar) his songs better than damn near anyone out there. The best musicians hone their craft from their heart, Vince in one of the rare few that can do the three from his heart. Writing, singing, guitar playing (or any instrument), he is damn good, but when put together, yeah he is one of the best of all time. A once in a lifetime talent is what Vince truly is.

Chet Atkins, one of the best in the world ever!! Vince Gill was obviously thrilled to death to be playing music with Chet Atkins and likewise for Chet. I got to see Chet Atkins only once in my lifetime and I'll never forget the concert. Chet was onstage just like he was off stage. A country gentleman, classy gent to say the least. You live on Chet, you live on!!!

Chet puts him on the spot at 3:15. Pretty good for a guy who is in the presence of a legend. At the end he get's out of the way and let's the legend finish. Knowing when to play and knowing when not to helps define greatness.

Such warmth and kind words exchanged from two incredible artists as guitarists! On the same "Freight Train", both possess lovely gifts and what is more, the respect and humbleness shown between these legends is so exemplary. You can really see how much Vince loved and admired Chet, and that he was so honored to be there him in that moment and revealing how mind-blowing Mr. Guitar really is, was and always will be. Chet shows immense gratitude and gives such a wonderful response towards Gil as he shows the world that Vince is truly a gifted player. For me personally, this is a wonderful find and thank you for posting this gem!

I remember a music book I somehow wound up with as a young guitarist, and Chet's transcriptions almost look like a foreign language to me. I have enjoyed listening to both of these guitarists through the years. Each for what they bring to the table for all of us to enjoy. My wife once asked Vince during a rare opportunity we got to meet him, "my husband wants to know why his strat does not sound as good as yours." He just smiled at me, and said he had no social life.

@Vince Gill 🔵 I truly like that you can play any instrument that you pick up. And the fact that you are truly country. I now live in Maryland. But I was born and partly raised in SW Virginia. A little town called Hurley, Va. near Grundy, Va. So naturally, my heart is still in the Applications Mountains. I understand that you are from Kentucky. Not too far from where I am from. We share that fact along with a few other country entertainers like Ricky Skaggs and Patty Loveless to name a couple. Vince just keeps on doing what you are doing. You are truly one of the best Country Entaniers. Thank you so much for replying to my post. God Bless you always.
