Good job on making sure to give major props to my MISA. Also, so cool that you mentioned what a boss album is "Just Bring It". That's in my top 3 along with "World Domination" and "Brand New Maid." Basically, we take the track lists from those 3 and dump them into a playlist, and replace studio recordings with live versions wherever possible, and that's like 95% of what I listen to.

I only now noticed that MISA plays here fingerstyle! I remember somebody asked me in which songs MISA plays fingerstyle. There are a few. "Thrill," of course. Then "about Us." And I couldn't remember any other! Who could imagine that it's Take Me Higher... I should have noticed it in Paris! And then MISA has the most amazing bass-slapping solo in this version, from Shinkiba Studio Coast! Such a punchy slap!

In this version of Take Me Higher, if you pay close attention, you can hear what they're saying in this rare translated "conversation" during their back-and-forth solos: MISA - Hey, watch this hot fingers. Kanami - Oh yah? Check out this tapping, killer. MISA - Everybody taps. Try these pulls. Kanami - Fools pull. Let's see ya stretch these chords. MISA - I can do all that... barefoot! Kanami - Sure, if ya drink enough JB. MISA - Better than being a speed-o, coffee-bean-o. Kanami rips a long solo while mouthing, "Love you MISA-san." MISA giggles, starts dancing around. They look toward Saiki to start her slow breakdown. Miku pretends to tune while shaking her head. Akane cracks up so hard she can barely play. Just Band-Maid doing Band-Maid things! Another Band-Maid banger that has indeed, taken us higher! Thx, Wave.

First time I've heard it, and I LOVE this song! I think it might have just become not only my favorite BAND-MAID song, but one of my overall favorites. As far as using videos from Prime: if you want to do it the proper way, contact the band's management and/or the website administrators and ask them for permission; as long as you explain to them properly (and possibly show them your analysis video), they may just allow it (if course, you would also have to be prepared for a firm rejection and "cease and desist" warning, but that's the risk when asking for permission...that's why a lot of people just choose to not think about it and go ahead and do things without asking for permission beforehand; not condoning it, but that's the thought process behind their actions - if they think about at all, that it). As long as you can explain your purpose properly (and they can analyze the costs and benefits properly), I would think there's a good chance they would agree to allow you to use it like this. Great analysis and breakdown, btw!

To me the main question is whether watching a low audio quality video confined to half the screen and paused frequently would prevent someone from suscribing to Prime because they can watch it here? I don't think that would be the case...if nothing else might motivate someone to suscribe to Prime. Plus the record company makes money with copyright claim.

Wave, Motley wah. pedals work differently than other war. pedals and have a button to the side of the pedal so you can't turn them off by just rocking your foot. They don't use a regular pot either, they are photo electric which means another power cord, but you never get that dirty pot static either.

10:47 Yeah, that's the weird thing about bass. You aren't always conscious of it but, take any BM song, replace MISA's parts with a run-of-the-mill bassist and you'll immediately notice something lacking. Let's be real, these ladies were born to be rockstars. Kanami especially was born to be a guitar hero. As much as I could listen to a whole album of MiSA and Akane grooving like they do in the live intro for Manners, I could equally go for Akane and Kanami with the wah-wah. 21:40 Yeah, you never know what to expect with these ladies except one thing: an UNGODLY amount of work put into each song from writing to practising for live performances.
@Rabbi_Rabbs
@Rabbi_Rabbs 2 жыл бұрын
Great comments. I think MISA/Akane form the best rhythm section in the business. What that duo does at the start of "Manners" as you mentioned is just sick. FTR, I never cared for the studio version of that song. Still don't. But, when they dropped that new opening on us, imo they took a 3 and turned it into a 10. Forget listening to a whole album of that, I'd pay to attend a concert of just the 2 of them jamming like that together in a jazz nightclub. And don't get me wrong, I love when all 5 members are rocking out, but MISA and Akane are just that good together, as if they've played together since birth. Also, you mentioned the epic Akane/Kanami thing, but there's also the MISA/Kanami thing. What turned me into an instant Band-Maid fan was seeing those 2 go toe-to-toe in "Don't You Tell Me". Add all the other "Tapping and Slapping" interludes such as "Turn Me On", "Play", "Onset", and omg, you got one of the greatest, if not perhaps the greatest, guitar/bass combo in rock music history. Those 2 are such heavyweights, and they know it, and they tap into each other's potential for full-throttle effect.
@sugoruyo
@sugoruyo 2 жыл бұрын
@@Rabbi_Rabbs there’s a reason they’re known as the power trio. They are all top shelf musicians and it shows. MISA made me truly appreciate the bass. Bassists from Ne Obliviscaris and Beyond Creation did so as well but that was limited to prog metal’s use of the instrument. MISA basically delivers a master class of how to play rock bass in every damn song she plays live. Kanami and MISA have great moments together I just don’t know if that would work completely without drums holding it down. MISA and Akane are so in sync it’s like they’re telepathically linked. They’re friends from music school so they’ve developed their musicianship under the same tutelage but have probably also had a lot of opportunity to jam together as they grew into this.

He also chopped it up, lowered the quality, paused frequently, rewinded a lot, and made the video otherwise not really watchable as a standalone.
