Great vid. Your approach to expaining how this works is very good. I have been using a similar concept by using channel strips across the board and didnt know this plugin existed becuse its located under the distortion tab in Nuendo. Definitely a game changer

If you wanted to recreate a certain console, would it be necessary to put a channel strip ahead of the NLS Channel, or is that just doing too much?
@HomeRecordingMadeEasy2 жыл бұрын
You can do that. See how it sounds!

Great video! I do not have the outboard stuff so I am basically using the channel at the end of each track and the buss on the beginning of my regular busses as well as the master buss per the manual. Is it really that simple or could you make a video on doing it correctly if I have it wrong? I have gotten a great passion for this through your MME Series as I have picked 6 of them up! You are very awesome my man. Keep up the fantastic teaching style.

it is as simple as that. You are doing it correctly.

VISION Recording Studios Great Video David, this is a great alternative to VCC. I also felt that the EMI console had more bottom end and I felt the SSL had more top end compare to the rest. I currently own VCC but this looks like this could be a great addition especially for that EMI Console! Thanks again

RayManuel _ Hey Ray - Yea, I love the VCC but because it's not 64bit ready and I have had issue with DAW crashes, I turned to the NLS and thus far i really like it. I'm sure once the VCC is 64bit ready and they have tweaked it, it will find its way back into my workflow

hi David. I liked this video a lot. Could You make some more videos with WAVES plugins in the future? It would be great. This one was really helpful.

Hi David, great review thanks! One question: Don't you normally have an analogue tape as your first insert?

This really has the potential to add that "realism" to otherwise "too-perfect " recordings by adding variances in the sound. Bravo!

I see you have the TG12345 under each channel in your video. I know you have it bypassed in the video but do you run it along with NLS? Can you bypass the sound from the NLS and still use the master buss with the AR Tg12345? Is that possible or what you're doing? Curious if you can use it like that if you wanted another console sound?

What's the difference between this and say the SSL G/E channel strip? Or CLA mix hub? You can add a saturation plugin on every channel...plenty out there. Tape plugin on the 2 buss...lots out there. So why this?

Every plugin you mention was not around when this video was made.

@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy I think it's made for using an NLS Buss on the individual buses of the project as well! So I put an NLS bus on every bus of my project and set the knob to VCA8 on all of those bus instances. Then on the master bus the knob is set no none. That way you get one more "level" of summing I guess. But this is a bit confusing
