I think something that is often overlooked in reviews, is that there is a need for games for younger players, that are not overly complicated when it comes to fighting and progressing. Especially if English is not their primary language. This looks like a fantastic game for young players, and a very good one for older ones.

I dont disagree with this as a whole but its worth noting that even small kids are smarter than we give them credit for more often than not. Unless you are talking about literal three year olds you would be impressed at how much a kid in elementary school can wrap their heads around and understand with little to no teaching. The whole phrase "overly complicated" is generally a trap in most use cases aside from some obtuse fighting game or RTS logic where if you dont play and master something over the course of hundreds of hours you are just garbage and will lose every fight. The concept of something being overly complex is absolutely something that exists but so is the concept of something being overly simple. Not that there is anything wrong with either but both have their negative connotations.

@@MasterN64 yeah, people seem to forget their own childhoods. I solved the pokemon braille puzzle all on my own when I was in elem. Kids can figure out games pretty easily sometimes

As a kid I played games with much better combat than this and did just fine. Good doesn't mean complicated, although in this case the combat is both simple and bad. I do think this would be a good game for a kid though. Pretty easy and fun.

The path less, and solar ashe, come to mind when watching this game in action. Looking into wavetale, it seems to share similar hours to those games as well (meaning it’s short). And I’ve heard a good amount of people have issues with that. I’d rather have 4-5 hours that’s crafted really well and flows seemlessly into one another, than 20 hours where only half of those are the best game had to offer and the rest is filler. Short games to me, are extremely refreshing.

This looks nice! I really like how dynamic and effortless the character movement and traversal seems

Played it when it initially released on Stadia, and it was honestly a ton of fun. I would never have thought to play the game outside a subscription (not the type of game I gravitate towards), but I actually have recommended it to a few people already. The movement mechanics are a ton of fun!

This game is on sale now in the Nintendo Eshop for $17.99 as of 6/30/23 This game is great and it’s linearity is a boon-a Plus no a “Developer send” lol. I love my open world games but this game’s straightforward story and gameplay along with a good sale price is a must buy. 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

Would like to see more games of these art style approach animation on twos to really tackle that feel of a hand drawn animation. Other games like DragonBall FighterZ, or even Cuphead stick to the theme with such consistency really well. Then I see games that look 2D, but do nothing else with that style. Just slap on the cel shade and leave the game alone after that. Such squandered opportunity to really embrace that style, imagine the posisbilities!

I played an hour of this before refunding. While it's fun it's not gripping. Definitely not much of a challenge and from Steam reviews the length doesn't match the price tag. I'll probably purchase again on a deep deep discount.

I really wanted to like this because as a platformer it feels so good to play, but it has SERIOUS issues which detract from the experience: - Most notable is the issue with SFX. Sometimes they wont play at all, but when they do, they are EXTREMELY low. Playing a game with barely audible SFX makes me feel nausea. Even if you turn down the Music and turn up the TV volume it's still barely audible. - There is VISIBLE screen tearing when moving the camera around with a few enemies on screen. The first "boss" scene had constant frame issues where I could literally see half of 2 frames for a split second. - Even the skybox has popup. You'd think the developers could make something that runs well on the PS5, but no. It's an utter disgrace. Whenever you see "Unity Engine", BEWARE That's the technical review. Now for the story: - It's EXACTLY what you've come to expect from a game with a blue haired protagonist - Her grandma is an UBER feminist that bashes every man she comes across and even brags about how she made the first move on the now dead grandpa - OF COURSE the mayor of a town was trying to restart some drilling rigs which upset the monster of the seas, SILLY TOXIC WHITE MALE, there's no other possible thing a WHITE MAN can be in a BLUE HAIRED protagonist story - All the other boys and men are weak incompetent buffoons waiting for the BLUE HAIRED protagonist to save them out of the mess they created I'm SICK of all this nonsense in videogames. Did Samus spend her time bashing men in her adventures? Did she have an UBER feminist grandma?
@sandersystreams12311 ай бұрын
Did you have a stroke while you wrote this review? There were a bunch of perfectly likeable male characters and at no point was any single character a feminist or said anything close to hating men. The grandma is a bit sassy toward some people, but one of those people is the main character, who is a girl. That's just how she is - you ever met the crotchety old grandma type? The mayor is pretty much the only character meant to be unlikeable in this entire game and it's not because he's a man, it's because he's an idiot, and the grandma and many of the other characters in the game were also complicit in what he did - ecological destruction, the real bad guy of the game, which has no gender. The fact that you've either forgotten or ignored the contributions of the male characters in this game says more about you than it does the game.
