While Cindy and I have been heading out to the Mojave to kick off a new year of wheeling for about as long as I can remember, we've always done it out in the California side of the desert or at least, up until now. For 2019, we decided to change things up a bit and moved our run a bit further east, into Nevada and out in the Vegas area. Also, unlike previous years, we decided to limit our group size to just 30 Jeeps, make into a two day event and one that would cover almost 200 miles of dirt. Along the way, we'd get to gas up at Terrible's Roadhouse - the "world's largest Chevron station", visit Ugo Rondinone's Seven Magic Mountains desert art display, hike through a canyon filled with ancient petroglpyhs, have lunch along the shores of the Colorado River, explore historic mines and of course, do a little wheeling out on the rocks and party with our friends late into the night. As an added bonus, you'll also get to see the highlights from the tour we did of the Techatticup Mine - the oldest, richest and most famous gold mine in Southern Nevada. We hope you enjoy our video.

I've said this before; your videos are so well done. There are several long videos on jeeping but they make them so boring that I have to skip to the good stuff. You cut your videos in a way that even the small talk is funny and entertaining. Well played my man, well played.

Pretty crazy climb with narrow switchbacks and some large boulders. Next time you guys are in Las Vegas hit me up, I've run Tie Rod Canyon several times now, fun trail. We also have Rocky Gap near Potosi and if you really want to get crazy and risk some body damage, there's also 2 leaf near Goodsprings.

Great video glad I found the channel only thing I can say is the guys running beadlocks could have dropped to 8 or 10 psi and would have crawled alot better. With my aftermarket non beadlocks I run about 15 psi but I am careful to not slam my tires so I dont pop a bead.
@wayalife
@wayalife 5 жыл бұрын
On this trip, we ran about 200 miles in two days and most of it at speeds of over 30-60 MPH. At most, maybe 1-2 of those miles were on the rocks. Yes, airing down more would have "helped" to crawl them but as you can see in the video, it clearly wan't necessary.

Actually, we're down in that area a lot. Being that we've got family down there, it's almost like a second home.

LOL!! In spite of what some seem to think, we don't get our parts for free like other KZbinrs and Kings are crazy expensive.

I didn't even look at the run time before hitting play... You know it's a good video when an hour passes and you don't even notice. 😂 Thanks for including us on the run and helping Fiona getback to the pavement. This was a great way to kick off the New Year for sure! 🍻

Definitely a cool video and awesome editing. It was the first time I've seen your channel, so Im not sure what your club is all about or how experienced everyone is. I felt like a lot of those jeeps needed to air down quite a bit more, I mean thats why they put beadlocks on their jeep isnt it ? I noticed a lot of spinning and bouncing off obstacles that should of been pretty easy to get up and over with low psi. I honestly dont recall even really seeing any squish out of the tires. Airing down creates a larger footprint and allows the tire to kind of mold around said obstacle allowing for more traction vs an inflated tire thats hard and just spins on slick surfaces. Just puts tons of unnecessary wear and tear on the vehicle, the orange 2 door is a perfect example. Had he aired down to like 4-8 psi he'd have made it so much easier. Even without beadlocks the right wheel/tire combo might be able to get down to the 8psi level although I wouldnt recommend it. Beadlocks= 2 psi no problem

LOL - On a trip like this, we cover almost 100 miles in a day and bombing across large section of desert running at speeds of about 60 mph or more in places. Not exactly something you'd want to be running 4-8 psi on or at least, unless you want a blowout due to a pinched sidewall. The amount of rocks we take on represents maybe 1% of our day but it's the most fun to see and so, it makes up a big part of our videos. But hey, clearly, you should always run your Jeep however you see fit.

I really like all of the videos you do and check for updates daily plus the constant modifications... Have you thought about installing a front facing trail camera either on bumper or high on front grill? this is something i would be curious about as i see many threads on these topics but trying to add it directly to 8.4 system i see you have to use something like tazer to get cargo to work... I would be interested if you or anyone else has installed one using factory 8.4 or after market system...

I dunno, I've been wheeling as an adult for over 25 years and I've never felt the need for a forward facing camera. When in doubt, a good spotter is what I would prefer to have over any camera. Of course, I'm sure that's me and my old school ways.
