It was a little over 10 years ago that Cindy and installed our very first Dynatrac product on Moby, a ProRock 60 front axle. Since that time, we've been able to rack up well over 150,000 miles, driving him all across America and putting his axle to the test, all along the way. Now, that would include testing it out on dirt, across the sand, through the snow, in the mud, out on tons of rocks and of course, bombing our way across the desert. While it may not look as pretty as the day we got it installed, it is worth nothing is that everything on it is still 100% original. In other words, the housing, ring and pinion, locker, axle shafts and u-joints are all the same things that we've been punishing, all this time. And, it's because of this long resume of use and abuse that we were convinced, a Dynatrac was going to be the axle for us, when it came time to upgrade the one on our Jeep JL Wrangler.
In this feature length video, you'll get learn all about the Dynatrac ProRock 44 being made for the Jeep JL Wrangler, what makes it such an awesome front axle and see how it's made from start to finish, right here in the U.S.A.!
Clearly, a ProRock 44 is far from being something everyone needs and I might even go so far as to say, most people may never need. Certainly, churching it up and trying to convince you of otherwise is NOT the reason why Cindy and I decided to make this video series. All we would ever hope to do is share why we chose to get one for our JL Wrangler and based on our experiences running ProRock axles over the last 10 years and across thousands of miles on Moby, Rubicat and even Nemo. However, I wouldn’t want you to take my word for it. Instead, I would encourage you to look through the myriad of videos that we’ve made since 2007 and see for yourself, just how strong and reliable, all our Dynatrac axles have been for us.
We hope you enjoy our presentation and find it to be informative. Thanks for watching.

This is the second time I have watched this video. I am amazed at the skill set and knowledge of the professional people working at Dynatrac. I myself have installed many gear sets and lockers in my 37 years as a mechanic. Pure entertainment to watch pros take such pride and have so much skill that it makes it look easy! My hat is off to Dynatrac and hope to have some of their products in our Jeeps in the future.

I put down a $5000 deposit to order a Spicer D44 and was told it would be delivered in a week, then 6 weeks, then 10. Now that the wheeling season has started in Canada I have requested my deposit back and will try to have a new D44 installed over the winter. After watching this very interesting and informative video I will be placing an order for a Prorock 44. Thanks for the video Eddie!

When our JK D44 bent after 12 years on 37s we went with a PR44 housing and our rubi internals (RCVs and elocker). Recently got in an accident where I hit someone doing about 40 mph. They guy ran a red light. The impact was right on the passenger front tire. The only thing that broke was the OE knuckle and it bent the dynatrac balljoints. The housing took the hit and is still straight, the super strong Cs are still at the right castor and camber and all is good despite the hit they took Beyond impressed

Well I'll be damned... I remember actually meeting you maybe two years ago in the parking lot of a hotel in Vegas. I saw the JK with Dynatrac down the side and I had to go over and take a look at it. Being from the mid atlanic area of the east coast, I don't see too many seriously built Jeeps. Everything I'd ever seen had been in magazines. While I was drooling all over it, you and your wife happened to walk out and you stopped to talk to me for a couple of minutes. You were totally cool. Awesome! Glad you found it to be helpful. I should note that since making this video, we have found that the factory Rubicon 44 on a JL or JT is more than enough to handle up to 38" tires. This is a great upgrade for a Sport or Sahara with a Dana 30 and insufficient for running 40's.

I rebuilt a 1981 CJ8 Scramber (today's Gladiator). I did a complete square tube frame replacement with a Dynatrac 60 in the rear and a 44 up front. It had a 700R4 race tranny, and a Chevy LS1 making 440HP. Topped it off with BFG 33" All Terrains. Corvette red, lots of chrome and black accents. Other than the awesome idle, it looked stock. Scary fast for a 4 leafspring vehicle.

Before you pull the trigger, is it safe to assume you’re just going to run 37s? If so, I would skip the 60 in the rear as it really isn’t needed and unless you’re going full float, long term use of the rear semi float 60 has shown me that it really isn’t that great. Even with 37s, I’ve seen plenty of bent flanges and even breaks at the flange. If you’re wanting to go 40s, there’s no way that the PR44 will be able to hold up to them. Just trying to keep it real and maybe save you some money.

Very good operation. I never knew that adding an axle was unique to the vehicle,

Well, not necessarily unique but there are a lot of Wranglers out there. You can have one of these custom made for just about anything.

Another great technical video. Nice to see how the ProRock's are made and the difference between them and the stock Dana 44. Looking forward to seeing Dynatrac in Moab since I now have a much better appreciation for their craftsmanship. These videos will make our EJS experience that much better.

Ha! I know you weren't trying to sell, but I've been looking at a couple axles and Dynatrac was one of them. I know there quality and seeing how well they are made put them way over the top. Thanks.

My last Dana 44 lasted 22 years and it wasn’t anything like their aftermarket units. Can only imagine the life span of one of these axles.
