Took mine to 2 dealers and after a month on each dealer, they were unable to find the issue.
@wayalife3 жыл бұрын
Is it safe to assume you have a 6.2L LT? If so, the wiring harness going to the GM ECM was routed under the fender to give the engine bay a clean look. There was a metal tab that it was rubbing against and that was causing a short.
@Mr.Guinness3 жыл бұрын
@@wayalife Definitely not a 6.2L😩. Dealers keep telling me is electrical, they just don't know where is the issue. I replaced TPIM, ECM, TCM. But your video helped out because it has almost identical symptoms and now I can focus on finding the electrical damage . Thank you 👍

Honest question. Im looking to swap a jk and i hear alot of issues with getting the gm computer to talk with the chrysler and constant attention required for tune. Would i be better off spending a lil more money on a 392 hemi swap hear its a really reliable swap vs ls??? Or just buy a new 392??
@wayalife4 жыл бұрын
So, aside from the problem we had with the wiring harness getting cut through, we haven't had any problems with our new 6.2L LT. Motech now has a single module system and it completely eliminates the Chrysler computer. Buying a new 392 would be a nice way to go and better than swapping in a HEMI but you wouldn't get the kind of modern technology you get with an LT and or a 10-speed automatic.
@Michael_ryan914 жыл бұрын

@@wayalife ya i have one on order but have a contract to walk away if its out of my price range. I hear alot of people saying this thing will be 70k + but im kinda banking on 65k. I have a jl rubicon to trade in but still alot of money for a jeep. Just trying to decide on building vs buying my next rig. Never had a v8 wrangler its been a dream for awhile just trying to finally make it happen.

Hate to break the news to you but I have it on good authority that it will be $70k+

Should have done a 6.4 hemi swap.

Nah. They're great engines and I like them a lot but everyone I know with one has overheating problems. As I show in the video, the problem we had was a simple one and all is good now. 😎

edie what happened to not ride with JL - gladiator??, you make beautiful videos 👍👍

LOL - still have both. There's only so much we can do when making videos. We'll get back to them again soon 😎

The LT sounds killer. What does the exhaust and muffler type consist of now? If still running cats are they a "hiflow" type. Thanks
@wayalife4 жыл бұрын
Glad you like what you hear. We live in Nevada and have no emissions control in our county. Needless to say, we have no cats and while our Magnaflow muffler sounds awesome, we do have a cutoff valve and that's what you're hearing at the very end. 😎

@@wayalife Nice!! Thought it sounded extra rowdy in the end of the vid. Without the cats how much fuel fumes are you getting?
@wayalife4 жыл бұрын
It's not too bad, not any worse than any of my old Jeeps and really, I only smell it when we're opened up.
@Allianceoffroad4 жыл бұрын
@@wayalife Nice! I have mainly always wheeled pre smog Jeeps and dealt with smell. Thinking about doing a universal high flow type just to kill smell. Finally the tech is good now where the dont kill power on moderate V8 powered rigs.

Eddie, I'm looking for the video where you are talking about the 5.13 gear in the JT. Do you happen to remember the title? Trying to decide between 4.88s and 5.13s for my JT on 37s. I live at 5000 ft. Thanks
@wayalife4 жыл бұрын
I think you might be thinking of our JL and it was this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5O4qYuDZax2qJY Of course, in hind sight, I'm really glad we went with 5.13

That is it thanks. What are your thoughts for gears on the jt with 37s? There are lots of opinions on 4.88 vs 5.13s

Honestly, after long term use on my JL, I would go with 5.13

Would you still recommend an engine swap after the issues you’ve had?
@wayalife2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the person. If you're mechanically inclined, I would say absolutely yes! If not, probably not. If you watched to the end of the video, you will see that our problem was just a chaffed wire and it has since been fixed and we haven't had any problems since.

It really sucks your trip was cut so short! I was expecting your problem to be something uber technical. Thankfully it wasn't!

It was a bummer for sure but at least we were with good friends and really, we didn't miss too much. All the good wheeling happened on the first 3 days. Fortunately, the problem was a simple one 😎

Thanks for making great videos and series. I especially enjoyed this one as well. Sorry to see the frustrations. Hope to see more. 1 question. Are you happy with the Dana UD60s on the gladiator? Or would you buy Dynatrac if you did it again? Thanks!
@wayalife4 жыл бұрын
Truth be told, Dynatrac makes a premier axle and I can't say anything bad about them. That being said, I'd be lying if I said the UD60 wasn't holding up well to the abuse we put it though and for the cost savings and ability to get them so quickly, it'd be hard for me not to consider them again.
