First saw Isaac in 1986 then six more times in late 80s and 90s, always in small venues in N. England. A most beautiful, soulful player and singer and a very nice bloke to speak to post-gig. Very sad when he passed away. To this day probably still my favourite acoustic guitarist/singer (nd I've seen some great ones!) . . Sadly long gone now . . But never forgotten ! ❤

Saw him once in the small basement of a pub somewhere in London and sat at the front table about 8 feet from him. Mesmerising guitarist.

I saw Isaac Guillory play in England a many times, mostly at small and often shabby folk clubs. It was always as if you had been invited to his living room to witness a great secret. I could not have been more mesmerised if he had taken a deep breath and levitated infront of my very eyes. An unassumming man of true genius great skill. Well done on posting this clip. Makes KZbin worth every penny that Google paid for it.

Wow I couldn't have said it better. I had the great honour of not only seeing Isaac perform, but he came and stayed with me and my girlfreind at the time, and I sat with him, crossed legged, on the floor while he showed me what he called the cool chords! He came and stayed with us 3 times in 3 years, and parked his mobile home outside our house, where he cooked steaks! LOL That is true, I have many storys about Ike! God bless the best acoustic guitar player iv'e ever seen

Isaac was a very fine musician, but also a wonderful teacher! I went to 2 of his guitar workshops at Cambridge Folk Festival, and always walked away feeling like he'd imparted something very special. He played at Lincoln Folk Festival here in the UK for a number of years. I remember him very well indeed. RIP Isaac: you were one of a kind.

Saw him in the eighties and nineties several times. Brilliant. Great man. Deserved more than just a few session gigs. His album with Atlantic could have been better had they not convinced him to do strings. His own albums were fantastic. Live - he was incredible, giving, perfect, funny and wonderfully open. Wonderful man.

At the break of the first time I saw him.... Pegswood Folk Club......, run by Ian Anderson. I asked him why he was not famous, he said I try very hard ( Not to be)... He always sounds as though two people are playing....

George. I was lucky enough for you to let me see the recording of the whole show, a long time back now. Wayfaring Stranger for me was the most stunning and haunting song of all. It definitely reached out to me. Isaac was amazing, my Son is named after him.

Saw Isaac at the Bredon Bar in Brum, must have been 1990? One of the only things my natural father had ever bequeathed to me was a tape of Isaac live, I played it to Bob Jarvis, the extraordinary guitarist in my band, and he said it was studio fakery. We sat in the front row and after 2 songs Bob turns to me and says: I'm giving up guitar, what's the point? This guy is as good as it gets. I resisted the temptation to say: I told you so. By the end of the gig, thanks to Isaac's spirit of generosity, Bob and I were inspired to continue ploughing our own little furrows. And to listen to more of this wonderful artist. The word genius is too readily bandied about, but Isaac was truly one. I'm so glad that we can now all get to witness it...

Great to see him play again thanks for sharing this. People rarely mention the quality of his singing which is effortless and beautifully phrased in any register he chooses. I don't think anyone has ever done guitar and voice better, with such inventiveness and variety of colour and texture. Great stuff!

tom doody that's brilliant! Do you still play? I remember reading in guitar magazine in 2000 he'd passed away I was genuinely devastated and I'd missed the opportunity to see him live. I've even tried to find places he's played to go and have a pint there (in a non bunny boiler type way) would love to hear what your playing now...if you still are?

Isaac was the “ringer” guitarist for a one-off afternoon gig at Evanston Township High School, 1967(?). He would’ve been 20. The rest of the band were in high school. He played a Strat through a cream Tremelux. I never did find out how this dopey teenage band got such a great player to help them out.
