KZbin surfing and ran across this phenomenal musician. What a great find. In the music world for 40 years, how on earth did I miss this fabulous player? So glad I found him and will enjoy a great Isaac journey today.

I once asked him 'Why are you not famous?' He said,....... 'I work hard on it'........... He blew me away every time I saw him.

At a gig I remember being totally blown away by his (completely effortless) musicianship. At one point there was a problem with the PA so he walked off the stage to check the sound ALL THE WAY SUSTAINING A VERY COMPLEX RIFF... and he missed not a beat. We were really pissed off though that there was a section of the audience that did not realize they were in the presence of a very special musician indeed who clearly achieved more than most of us do in a longer lifetime. Thank you Isaac.

I knew Isaac in Palatka Florida in 1962. I was in a high school rockabilly band, and he was in the Illusions. We could tell he was playing way beyond our level even then. Great job, Isaac. See you in Jam Heaven.

Saw saw him four times, each time being totally blown away. Second time in some dingy bar asked him for permission to take photos and he said yes, but no flash. So - third time had a couple of nice b&w photos to give him and he signed mine. Great bloke! But how he throbs out that bass line while doing all the other stuff... ? Stunning!

Plucked up courage to speak to Isaac Guillory after a concert in the Boat House in Cambridge England about 10 years ago. "Fantastic" I said I can't even imagine the a single bar of the arrangements you play" "Ah" he said "it all starts by imagining it" which is probably why I still can't play guitar. True genius guitarist. Well done for posting this clip it really does show how wonderfully fluid his style was.

I saw Isaac playing one of his Martin guitars in a little club in Otley, Yorkshire (uk) just a few months before he died. I was totally stunned and I remember being mesmerised by his fabulous playing. What an incredible musician and what a great loss to the music world and to us all. God Bless you Isaac.

It's been 10 years since Isaac's final gig at the Ullapool Guitar Festival. He was my best friend for many years. With love brother... I miss you so much... hope you're running a band up there. David

Only just found this video - really nice to read all these wonderful tributes to a former colleague of mine - we had a band called 'Pure Chance' - Like everyone else, I still miss Isaac to this day - but his music will go on for ever

knew when I heard him in 1966 playing guitar with the 'Revelles' in Chicago that this guy was special !! he riffed off the lick to 'Look Through Any Window' on a Rickenbacker and it was magic !! true guitar hero.

I played once as front group for him at IT'S HERE in Chicago during the Joel Corey "uncola" era around 1972. He did a great rendition of Rainmaker. To this day I can only do Rainmaker and Wayfaring Stranger. The others are just so individually creative and hard to copy. I'd love to know how to do the riffs for this number but maybe some things ar best left to the ages. Thanks to whoever added the newest videos of him.

great song and one of his own. I rememberseeing him back in the early nineties and him doing lots of covers (various blues genres, my favourite..and Mick Mars's from Motley Crue) but he did do this one and Swinging Little Guitar Man. I thought they were both amazing. A friend. described as "the greatest acoustic guitarist in the world". I didnt disagree with him.

It's hard to compare his playing - well, anyone's playing to anyone else's, but ignoring that for now - to Tommy E, because there is so little of IG's stuff on here, but....MAN, is he smooth. It's like the neck has no frets and the strings have no windings. What a talent. What a waste. At least I've found him and can start collecting another great player's music.
