Waylon Jennings died in 2002. His song "I'm a Ramblin Man" was released on his album The Ramblin Man in 1974. Waylon's voice and his band sound are very distinctive. He is truly one of country music's greatest.
@jeffdetmer46812 ай бұрын
Hi guys. The other Ramblin Man song was the Allman Brothers song from around 73. Waylon was definitely OG outlaw (see Highwaymen). Many moons ago Waylon was playing bass for Buddly Holly. He and another band member were asked to give up their seats on the bands plane for The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens as one of them was too sick to ride the bus on that cold night. They did. That night was the one sung about in Don McLeans song American Pie (The Day the Music Died) as that plane crashed that night killing Buddy and all on board. Don't know if you've ever seen The Dukes of Hazzard TV show. The opening theme music is sung and they show just a pair of hands playing guitar. Both the singer and the guitar player is Waylon.

Guys: the 70’s brought the Outlaw Country movement. Willie hot feed-up with Nashville over-producing music (you’ll hear the sound in Hello Walls). Willie went home to Texas & built his own recording studio (outside of Austin). Waylon was fighting the same thing. Waylon caught a Producer (messing with his music) and pulled a pistol on him. Waylon called Willie and he left to record at Willie’s studio… the hard hitting electric guitar, blues sound was born and hits were made. Take a journey! With Willie, you’ll always hear a crying harmonica, a 1800 saloon piano, and his famous guitar, Trigger. Waylon is a master guitarist. Merle Haggard is a master guitarist with a love of the big band sound. And just for thrills…in the 1960’s Ray Charles put his career on the line to record his favorite music in his award-winning Album…The Sounds of Country and Western Music.

@Bourbon Country Reacts, Wyoming Whiskey Master Blender Nancy Fraley here. The batch that you have there is actually 8 years and 10 months old. The fact that the winters are SO long in WY means that the maturation season is fairly short but very dry and hot, so the barrels might not taste as old at nearly 9 years as they would in KY at the same age. And to explain a little bit about the whiskey: the first Master Distiller at Wyoming Whiskey didn't like working with rye, so he rebelled and made a "rye-ish" whiskey that only had 48% rye in the mash bill vs. the at least 51% that is required by law to make true rye whiskey. Once we discovered this 4 years after the fact, we decided to blend the "rye-ish" whiskey with the rye-recipe Bourbon that was distilled at the same time (2011). The result was a whiskey that was 1/3 of the "rye-ish" whiskey to 2/3rds rye Bourbon that was blended together to create Outryder. As a side note, whenever I am working to blend the whole portfolio of Wyoming Whiskey's Bourbon and whiskey, I tend to listen and be inspired by a lot of Outlaw Country musicians such as Waylon, Willie, Cash, Coe, etc. I'm also a big fan of all three Hanks (i.e., Sr, Jr., and III). I play bass guitar, so all this music influences both my whiskey blending and bass playing. At any rate, glad to hear that you enjoyed the WW Outryder, and cheers!
