I loved your reaction, just as fun as the first one, Jen. One scene which I didn't think you got was Cassandra's wedding scene which is a homage to the '60s film 'The Graduate', and the Roadie was from 'Withnail and I', which is a British black comedy film. Of the Mike Myers films the 'Austin Powers' ones are the best, but 'So I Married an Axe Murder' is good too, you should do another comedy as well (if you haven't already seen it of course), 'This is Spinal Tap' it's a mock rockumentory.

As I'm sure has been said, the church sequence is a nearly shot-for-shot recreation of a similar sequence from "The Graduate", which once rated as high as #7 on the AFI's 100 greatest films list. A dark comedy that is well, well worth seeing. But happy to see that you got many of the other film references and Heston's great cameo. I once got to work a show with Dana Carvey, and he is exactly as funny and nice as he appears.

One warning to you before watching The Graduate: if you like the Simon and Garfunkle song, “Scarborough Fair,” don’t watch that movie! They play that song over and over and over again (both the actual version and an instrumental version) throughout the movie, and you will probably grow to hate it by the time the movie is over.

As a member of the tribe that the Weird Naked Indian is, the actor Larry Sellers died in December of 2021. He was very good elder, i used to serve his youngest child lunch in the cafeteria of the school. His health started to deterate in the past decade. I always was starstruck everytime I saw him cause I watch this movie dozens of times growing up. My relatives had story on him from back in the day when they were young.

Wanted some comedy today, Jen's archive always satisfies! The dubbing for Cassandra's father was done by Jim Downey, SNL sketch writer extraordinaire. He wrote a 1987 sketch for when Bill Murray returned to host where Murray played an out-of-shape Hercules, with all parts badly dubbed. You're seen Downey as the principal in Billy Madison who delivers the hilarious "everyone in this room is now dumber" speech. Jen, your giddy, musical laugh to that gag goes in the reactor hall of fame!

Though I didn't get it before I went to Buffalo. (First place ever I've been to that there were more Tim Horton's than Dunkin' Donuts. I even was drinking their coffee instead of beer in the stands at Highmark Stadium. The beer of course was Labatt's. But it was 34 F/ 1 C out there and the snow was an improvement over the freezing rain. It was also a disturbingly competitive game against the Jets... what was I saying? I totally lost my train of thought. Anyway, yeah, Tim Horton's is awesome, and I think I SHOULD get their coffee shipped to Florida.)

Del Preston is not only the greatest roadie in existence, he also has some handy hints for those who often find themselves cornered by Bengal tigers... or shop owners and their children. My friends and I have been quoting these films since the 90's, full of classic lines, but Del's sad yet victorious tale is the GOAT... tiger?... I so badly wanted a Wayne's World 3 just to hear more about Del and his old lady. Edit - 21:05 and here's one of many reasons I had a 'bit' of a crush on Drew well before she hooked up with Cameron and Lucy.

I believe the major movies being parodied in this one -- apart from the ones you called out -- are: "The Graduate" (without spoiling it, a major part of Wayne's World 2 is beat-for-beat "The Graduate," including the soundtrack! Definitely one you should add to your list, it's a great movie.) "Field of Dreams" (also highly recommended ... the "If you book them, they will come" line is a riff on the most memorable quote from "Field of Dreams." This would be a good one to react to too, I'd opine.) "The Doors" (all the vision stuff with Jim Morrison and the naked Indian in the desert is from the "Doors" biopic starring Val Kilmer ... I think? I've never seen this one, but I'm 99% sure on this, nonetheless!)

Big Trouble needs to be seen by all and Shaolin Soccer (Stephen Chow's film prior to Kung Fu Hustle) is a great comedy too, just avoid the dub for the obvious reason and the fact that it has a shorter runtime than the sub! I remember being really disappointed with Kung Fu Hustle but I think that was down to my love for Shaolin Soccer, I've never seen Gangs of New York and it didn't have Zhao Wei/Vicki Zhao in it!... most of Shaolin Soccer's cast returned except their lead actress. The litter was a take-off of the last scene of the extremely popular Woodstock movie. 1/2 million people [largest gathering in history] has a tendency to leave some trash [and it rained during the concert too] so given what it was can be somewhat understandable. [the cool thing is that so many stayed behind to help clean up Woodstock] [it was "three days of fun and music and nothing but fun and music" and the owner of the farm "God blessed them for it"] The bubble blowing smooth guy was a spoof on the very famous Cary Grant, the Indian with one tear was a regularly run commercial or more like a public service announcement showing the Indian with the tear looking out over the land I believe after showing someone litter [It was meant to heighten awareness not to litter] it was a regular seen thing on TV at the time. Of course, the entire red car/church part was a takeoff of the Graduate [unfortunately acting as a spoiler for you in this case] Of course Jim Morrison was the lead singer for the Doors [died of drug overdose in England]. Their blue AMC Pacer they drove so proudly was generally accepted as possibly the ugliest car ever made and was widely panned and people who drove them were made fun of much like the owners of Ford's Edsel in the late 50s early 60s. The man with voices in his head was the dad on the very popular "Married with Children" sitcom. Kenny G with his sax was commonly played [and got the reputation of being only good for this] as "elevator" music and other public background music such as waiting rooms like at dentist offices. "Ancient Chinese secret" was a direct line from the Calgon detergent commercials. "I got no place to go" is from the movie "Officer and a Gentlemen" [doesn't spoil it and YES, it is a classic and you probably should do it sometime]. If you book them, they will come" of course is from Field of Dreams "If you build it, he will come". [Kevin Costner] Rip Taylor was a famous comedian known for his trademark move: Throwing confetti. I believe Charlton Heston did a PSA about littering too with the single tear again while looking over a wasteland of litter. [very often run between TV shows] Great how this movie can still stand up as a good time funny farce even without knowing all the nods to popular stuff from that time. Great reaction.

It's like an early 90s fever dream of pop surrealism - It's so weird (Jim Morrison in the desert), dark (jealousy and failure, Christopher Walken's cynical producer), funnier (IBob Odenkirk cameo as the nerd, Kim Basinger's hilarious femme fatale cougar, Harry Shearer as the radio jock) and much more experimental than the first (the ending Graduate montage with multiple endings, Del Preston's slow descent into insanity). This is probably due to the fact that they couldnt't agree on a script so they pretty much locked Mike Myers in a room for 2 weeks and he was forced to come up with anything he was obsessed with out of his demented comic mind. The character of Garth is fleshed out so much more (brilliant and poignant Carvey performance), and Del Preston, the burned-out tour manager, (actor who played the drug dealer from Withnail and I!) is absolutely inspired. I love the expanded scope (the music festival in the infancy of Lollapalooza). It's also endlessly quotable. The height IMO is the cover of YMCA by Wayne and his friends dressed as the Village People. I love that you are the first to review this!

Jen when Wayne's World was on SNL Aerosmith were probably the most famous guests who appeared on their show. Aerosmith even did a version of their Wayne's World introduction. As for more Batman, reacting to a few episodes of the original TV series from the 60's would be a riot

I love that you'll be watching the Austin Power's trilogy soon. Now that you're well versed in Bond the references will be easy to spot. Please give Batman '66 a look. You'll see some classic camp as well as an all-star lime up of villains.

The 'super hot' lady was Kim Basinger. She was in Batman ('89), I'm surprised you didn't recognize her. The DJ was Harry Shearer from Spinal Tap and The Simpsons.

I love Ralph Brown lol, pops up in so much, this, Alien 3 Phantom Menace (He's the Pilot telling Anakin about Coruscant being a City Planet) The boat that rocked and many, many more but he's still Danny to Me, from Withnail and I, British Stoner Comedy. It's got a major cult following.

The brown M&Ms story is actually a real thing Van Halen had in their concert riders. Sounds very ‘diva-ish’, but actually served a real purpose. They had a big show with lots of stage requirements, so if they walked in and saw brown M&Ms, they’d know the venue didn’t pay close attention.

If you really want to understand the root of Del Preston's character, you should watch the classic British film 'Withnail and I', which basically features a prototype of the same character, played by the same guy. It's a black comedy / drama and I think you'd like it a lot. Also no one has reacted to it.

8:23 "It's weird, to me, that English people call wives or girlfriends 'old ladies.'" It's not just them. I once knew a guy from Mexico. He spoke with a distinct accent. There was _no_ hiding the fact that English was his second language. He referred to _his_ wife as "the old lady." Never mind that she was twenty years his junior. 🤷‍♂
