The reason of why I don’t have kids is because I think It is the other way around. Most of the time the parents are to be blamed. BUT!......As an adult, it also takes a lot of courage and the desire to change in order to throw the chains that hold us from our childhood wounds or habits. I was in denial for a while. I thought that we are not affected by the way we’re brought up when we’re young; it turns out we are. But it’s a good thing to realize, it’s only then that our character shows up. Do we continue being lazy and blame our parents for it? OR...We learn and better ourselves up?

Many are not parented correctly especially when they are teen parents with no support group. How can a teen parent a child when many times they are trying to live their own lives still, looking to have fun, a child can suffer greatly by their immaturity. Then you have parents whom do all the can but when a young person becomes a young adult they reject counsel trying to find themselves. It is not a parents fault when at times they make decisions and there are always consequences to decisions whether they be good or bad. If you make a bad decision you have to be adult enough to suffer the consequence.
@emanueldelove8170
@emanueldelove8170 Жыл бұрын
The parents are definitely to blame here. Cissy often said she would have a big problem if Whitney was gay. She behaves like she had no room for sin or sinful lifestyles. But after John Houston had an affair Cissy had an affair in revenge. This is just one example of saying one thing and doing another rather than accepting that we're all flawed. I'm sure there were many other examples on a daily basis whey Whitney was growing up. That behaviour and attitude spills over into your parenting skills. When a parent behaves that way it affects a child. A child that is severely restricted is just going to turn loose when they get older and have the money to do so and no one to tell them no that surrounds them. That child knows there is nothing wrong with having a drink, falling in love and having sex, experimenting with partying, etc and most people do this in moderation but a child that has lived with double standards and has been severely restricted will take it to the extreme because they are suddenly the kid with the keys to the candy store when they were denied a stick of gum for years. This is a common psychological concept. Everyone talks about the rebellious pastor's daughters and it's a common theme for a reason. Cissy did what she thought was the right thing but you can't say you did everything right and then get a wrong result!

They turned to drugs after the fact they were GROWN ASS ADULTS. That's not her responsibility to keep up with what they do as adults nor is it her fault or a reflection of her being a bad parent that they turned to drugs. She did her job as a mother. What they do after they hit 18 and are out of her house is SOLELY A REFLECTION OF THEMSELVES, AND demons they may not have had to face during their childhood. Whitney was doing quite well before she turned to drugs, she was a model, TV commercial actress, and adventurally became a WORLD RENEWED MULTI-PLATNUM RECORDING ARTIST, AND THIS WAS ALL BEFORE THERE WAS EVIDENCE OR SUSPICION HER DRUG USE.

@c.calliecoleman1531

That's the saddest part, to me, about it, with all that love Whitney had, and was sharing, with the world she couldn't see the envy, and jealousy, behind the smiles of those around her, even in her circle of people. You usually have to have been burned, to know everybody ain't your friend, and then you become trained to see clean through people to know if they're true or not. You practically screen people before you allow them to get too close to you, or in your inner circle. It's so refreshing to see people like Whitney being so happy and carefree, because you remember you were once like that, and it's such a free feeling, but you just know you can't go back to being like that, or wind up, in a pit again. I just wondered who had Whitney's back, at the end. I know Cissy did, from the start, and just like me Whitney wanted mom to go home, so she could have her fun. I know the love was strong between Bobby and Whitney, and he had her back, but the world was condemning their marriage not to work, from the start. And when the breakup finally happened Whitney was left wide open, to the vultures, and magpies. Know she found a better life, in heaven.

@@Thegazelle1000 That is so true, and even sadder, because you can see it, and not want to see it. All you know was how good the relationship started off, probably was even true friends. But Whitney started to rise up, some be happy for you, but some let jealousy eat away at them, and decide she got to go. I'm still working to get over what happened to Whitney. I don't care how many days, or month's go by where I haven't heard something about Whitney, when I do hear something about her, I just get that sadness inside me, again. Same way I feel about Bobbie Kristina, too.

Everyone knows the masters that they were but that doesn’t not mean they weren’t jealous of her. You really think people don’t know that Aretha is a legend and a master at her craft? That still doesn’t mean that she couldn’t be jealous and be a diva. Aretha was known to be a diva. Also on top of Whitney’s PHENOMINAL voice she was stunningly gorgeous. Sorry but neither of them could match in Whitney’s beauty. All I know is that Whitney has serious insecurities which Kevin Costner pointes out in his eulogy. Where do children get that from? Their parents and elders. They may or may not have done it consciously but something happened to cause that. I would love to know what made Whitney turn so fiercely to drug addiction as a crutch. I feel like she was terribly alone and the people around her were not right. Something was not right.

Ms. Cissy Houston thank you so very much for encouraging Whitney to continue singing, because if you hadn't we would never have known of the radiantly magnificent talent of THE VOICE, but most of all, it started with God, then you and her father John uniting and then the mortal birth of Whitney Elizabeth Houston, praise God from whom all blessings flow . I humbly and wholeheartedly thank you all from the very depths of my heart and soul ✝️🙏❤️👏

I'm sorry I am just going to say it. I don't even care. Aretha in my opinion may be the queen of soul. Is she good? YES obviously. But so is Mariah Carey and Celine Dion. I will say this there is no singer on this planet that beat WHITNEY HOUSTON. Many talented singers yes but WHITNEY was gifted. And that's evident. Look at all her performances. The proof is in the pudding 😏. That being said Aretha Franklin as good as she was had no reason to be bitter or jealous or a hater on Whitney Houston. Like why didn't you go to her funeral?? You say you were sick but then performed at a concert later that night?? Bs. Aretha knew Whitney had her beat and even tho Aretha was a great singer she mentally couldn't handle it. So on that note jealousy is an ugly trait and whitney did nothing but praise aretha. Aretha just seems really petty. She knew WHITNEY had it over everybody.

Aretha is the Queen of Soul...not the queen period. Why all the comparisons? Mariah Carey and Celine aren't soul singers, but yes they can sing soul. If Aretha was jealous it was definitely wasn't about anyone else's talent. That time she filled in for Pavorotti with 30 minutes notice? Her piano skills? Her songwriting? 18 Grammy's? 45 albums? Never losing her voice? Whitney was AMAZING, but i don't think it's necessary to bring up Aretha and put her down to praise Whitney. Also, I don't think it's fair to judge Aretha for not going to the funeral. We don't know why....but the first thing people say is that she was jealous. She was planning to sing at the funeral. I remember someone told her it was going to be hard and asked if she could get through it. She said "I'll try" and she looked upset. Who is that jealous that they cant to a funeral after being asked by the deceased's mother, your friend? That is what you are accusing her of.

Both Aretha & Whitney were talented and gifted, However there is only 1 Queen of Soul that is Aretha Franklin. She never lost her voice. She sang opera Whitney could not! I doubt very seriously if Aretha had any malice or jealousy in her heart for Whitney whom she loved and groomed. However, I think Cissy & Aretha had a falling out. After all Aretha observed the going ons with Whitney as she was growing up. Maybe she knew the Cissy Houston like we will never know. The alcoholism and drugs which infested the Houston family was common knowledge as well. I really admired Whitney’s singing yet her scandals and drugging and who she surrounded herself around was the cause of her destruction! Cissy sounds bitter during this interview I don’t hear or feel how this Woman “Loves” from her body language or how she speaks even in reference to raising children these days. Whitney was searching for love and true acceptance.

Whitney could definitely sing opera. Clip of her from 1994 doing it. As much as I loved Aretha she could be quite petty when she saw other female talents getting more attention then her. Example Natalie Cole, Patti labelle, Gladys Knight, Mavis Staples and she was even nasty to Whitney when they did there duet together. To be one of the greatest singers of all time and at the same time be so insecure.

I’m so pissed off about bad comments on Aretha. I think she didn’t attend to Whitney’s funeral because of Cissy. Their relationship were in trouble. I think they didn’t like each other and it started from Whitney’s addiction. Aretha’s comments could hurt Cissy, so she decided to threw it away. Still they both made the real music. Both of them are legends with raw talent. I prefer to stay away from these judgements and criticism.

@ Chef Mcfadden, My thoughts exactly and it was my main reasons why I came into the comments section to see if anyone else feels the same way I do. In my opinion this was a horrible interview because Mrs. Cissy Houston wasn't allowed to speak freely. The radio personality just dominated the entire time allotted for the interview. I didn't want to hear about the things that goes on in her home. Here you have one of the most legendary background singer's in the history of music. Who has sang background for some of the greatest of all time (G.O.A.T.) such as Elvis Presley, Luther Vandross, Bette Miller and the list goes on and it goes without saying the mother of the beautiful, talented, iconic Whitney Houston. Let her speak and you listen for once , I'm referring to the radio personality.
