I am 73 years old. I was raised up in this area. Owned property on Lake Lure. My family sold out during the early 70s, Back then there was just about 20 young people from us say from 16 to mid 20s. People that was born there. The closest police station was in Rutherfordton better than 20 miles away. Then all the big money and outsiders started buying everything and taking over the local politics. That's when we sold out. Couldn't afford to live or put up with the bullcrap. I feel for the people that live there. I live probably 40 miles from there now and haven't been there in the last 25 years.

The only reason they could run this report from Bat Cave was that WV coal miners built an expedient road to allow regular vehicles to travel in and out of there. The government abandoned those people for the most part. I live in Fletcher right above the airport. I am a USAF veteran. They didn't send any logistical, civil engineering, or medical units here. Not even a single C-17. This never happened since the founding of FEMA. Similar hurricanes like Katrina and Maria resulted in 10,000 - 15,000 troops, especially the civil engineering and medical units we never had. This is why everything is still broken and there is still debris everywhere. I don't know how to tell you all this without getting censored or gaslighted by Harris supporters. This is the biggest crime I ever saw in my life and I can't figure out for the life of me why they did it when they had to know it would cost them the election. Forget the woo woo theories. They withheld the very military units we needed and American citizens died waiting for rescue that was never sent. Most rescues were effected by veterans in civilian helicopters at great private expense that FEMA has made no effort to repay. And don't forget FEMA is still sitting on over 70 billion dollars in illegal slush fund money according to a DHS OIG report issued just last August. They have the ability to at least pay for civilian contractors to do what Biden admin refused to deploy the military to do (which was Biden's constitutional duty). Also note that the democrats defending FEMA here got their $750. I am registered independent: denied: So are most conservatives as I understand it. The truth is buried right there in your bs story.

The State deploys the National Guard. Not FEMA. And the State Republicans stalled on declaring a disaster area after the Dem Governor asked them. Also they stalled for a week to declare funds and just passed the third funding last week. You were in the Military and still don't understand how things work? And that woman said a Blackhawk evacuated her day after storm - Government Helicopter.

There are plenty of disasters going on now; it seems like a new one is hitting every week (or less.) Volunteer for one of these disasters, with a church or something, BEFORE the government takes over. You'll experience first hand how real relief efforts are stopped by government agencies and corporations, they steal everything, allow volunteers to do the work for them under their control (and volunteers get completely frustrated that they can't really help anyone anymore,) and then take all the credit for any help the people do receive. They just want their money, and they will make sure that only the bare minimum is done to keep the funding rolling in. "Disaster relief" is a massive business, with insane profits; they will not waste those profits helping people. You don't have to stress about "rumors;" you'll see it for yourself.
