The electoral college helps prevent the tyranny of a slim majority democracy. Democracies are unfair as the desires of the majority usually come at the expense of the minority without their consent - A democracy can easily become slavery of the minority to the whims of the majority. The electoral college is a buffer against that tyranny. Also, the 3/5ths compromise was an attack against slavery - the southern slave owners wanted slaves counted fully in the representation because they wanted greater influence on behalf of the population of their slaves but without their slaves having any ability to say or consent. By reducing the power of slave owners the anti-slavery states were able to prevent the slave owners from just "breeding" and importing enough population to control the country.

I wrote Hamill off years ago because he is an angry, bitter old man who thinks he is actually important. I am able to separate the actor from the person pretty much, but anything he does now will be avoided. I don’t think anyone takes him seriously because he comes across as deranged and unhinged. It’s sad, but he is another example of why celebrities should stay out of politics. As a teacher, one of my job requirements is to stay neutral politically. I agree with that requirement because I hold a lot of influence over young minds who are developing. My job is to show them how to do research and to analyze the facts in a logical way so that they can discover their own path. As for Mark’s career, he ended it long ago with his “charming personality.”

Just re-cast Luke Skywalker at this point. I've been a star wars fan since 1994 I was 10 years old. I don't really hate Mark Hammil I just find him disgusting and I don't want to have to look at him anymore.

Funny thing, Hamill was against the movies and how they treated luke. Seeing his interviews are hilarious, on how he tries to speak the truth while sounding exciting for the NDA.

@@misterfevillord1588 haha, I do remember that. When he was underhandedly slamming the movie, Emperor Kennedy looked over at him with the stink eye and was giving him the signal to shut up. Yes, I waited all my life to see Luke in action again as...a Jedi Master. I was expecting episode 8 to be so good, then we had to have woke politics in it. Some moron named Rian Johnson brought the whole thing down.

I spent years saying he deserved to be treated with more respect in the Star Wars Disney Trilogy. I was outraged for the character of Luke but also for Hamill and his legacy. I thought the Mando S2 appearance was at least SOMETHING of value to give back and heal some of that damage. But Hamill clearly doesn't care about his own legacy. The more I see and hear of him the more the "oh shucks quirky and charming" veneer falls away and the more you see him as just a miserable person who maintains a lot of hate, disdain and condescension towards those who have a different point of view than him. I always used to say "I'll never forgive Disney for what they did to Luke" But the truth of the matter is that reality is exposing the fact that my adoration, dare I say IDOLATRY of the film industry was completely misplaced and misguided. It is one big farce, one big charade, these people are all charlatans. My attention and enthusiasm should be focused elsewhere.
