The race depicted is the Monaco F1 Grand Prix which takes place around the streets of Monte Carlo (southern French coast) - there is even a French motorcycle cop depicted. Madrid, Spain is land-locked so the yachts would have to be trucked in. 😁

Definitely Monaco as I have been there and it is the most famous of all the GP races as it is the only one to be held on City streets like is shown here and is also super glamourous apparently...

Aztec is also a great game...more of a shooter's game where this one is all about blasting those awesome spinners!! SS spinners can never be as good...maybe if they had a good digital sound effect with only the score reel sound at first, and as it slows, adding the chimes back in, so you know you nailed it really well.

We used to play a pinball machine all day in one arcade as it had a ball trap up top with a points switch and a shoot out actuator that was malfunctioning, So when it tried to shoot the ball out it would just make it past the gate if you left it alone, but if you stood by it and banged the machine as it shot the ball weakly it would wobble the ball, thus making sure it wouldnt have enough puff to get out past the gate back into play thus falling back scoring again and we'd do that for special every time then play the rest of it normal to make sure we only ever spent only one coin all day. as we had no money, as we were just young punks with nothing better to do than play the thing. But it kept us out of worse trouble... So we were always worried some guy like you would show up and fix it but they never did as the bloke that ran the place was a cheapskeate as thats why it was broke to start with...Used to own a Blast Off...great machine, although not for long. Love pinball machines, play them whenever and whereever I see them...love your channel, just hearing those chimes on those old mechs makes my heart come alive...

The modern day pinball machines have a video screen down below. That's what the Williams "Gilligan's Island" pinball machine has. Too bad that there was nothing about "Gilligan's Planet." It's a real misfortune just how many people hated it. I was thinking of Willie Gilligan having a sour expression on his face: Whenever Teresa Dortch brings great harm to him. 🏝

Turning the lights off is how they are meant to be played. If I recall rightly, virtually all Pinball Arcades were pretty dimly lit. No one would put lights on the machines if they were not meant to be seen.
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 2 жыл бұрын
Back in the day when I played, it was either at a bowling alley where it was kind of dim, or in an arcade where the lights were out. The only lights in the place were from the machines... we had a few arcades inside bowling alleys too where it was a separate room, and they always had the lights out as well. I can remember playing at the skating rink and the lights were out, and I can remember playing at the movie theatre and it was dark in the area the games were in. I guess everywhere wasn't like that, but everywhere I went was... thanks for watching as always Brendan!

Man!! First it’s age that machine flies! What angle have you got the playfield on this EM? Any tips on getting pops and flippers to kick that fast?
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 2 жыл бұрын
I don't ever measure the angle, I just put the front feet all the way up and the back feet most of the way out, LOL The pop bumpers and flippers on this game are ran off of DC voltage which they only did on the last few years of EM's, so any Grand Prix pinball machine is going to play just like this if it's set up properly.

A lot of people see things like that, and think "oh I don't like that" but one of the things that makes a game fun, is the way you can potentially lose the ball! They wouldn't be any fun without outlanes, I never understood why people don't get that. I get games in all the time where they blocked off the outlanes, lol what in the world

Bumping and knocking the table without tilting it, or as you americans call it using "English" on the table is the dark art of playing pinball well...Also I believe you guys call putting side on a pool or snooker ball is also known as using "English"...Whereas smashing the glass is known as using your head...lol...Also one of the dark arts of pinball is the setup, getting the table at just a right angle so all the shots play right off the flippers and the ball isnt flying too fast onto the flippers to control it properly. Good flipper defense is also an art and knowing when and how to make those winning shots like the lane shots is the key. This machine doesnt really have a lot of shots, just the lanes and the drop targets and the holes really, but its old and was the last of the line before some bright spark thought up upper playing fields, extra flippers, both with their own button and with the same button, metal ramps and ball runs like on High Speed and then the mentalness that was PInbot and Bride of Pinbot... Multiball mania then kicked in and the thing was talking at you as well...the one we used to play alot was based around Pool and would always say "Quit talking and start Chalkin;" and would also comment "too much english" if you tilted it...lol...

I heard some pretty bad claims about stern and their machines and how their milk in their customers out of money and how they only giving you are such a short warranty on such a Expensive pinball machine only on new ones
@danashcroft961
@danashcroft961 2 жыл бұрын
I think those kick out holes need some work as they are busting the ball back into play so weakly that it is just feeding it down the middle where the flippers can't save you, expecially on the left hand side. Infuriating when that happens as you know everytime you score that, its over for that ball unless you wobble the whole thing as it pops it out but then you risk tilting it...
