Period cramps themselves are caused by the hormone prostaglandins, the worse your cramps are, the more of this hormone is produced when your lining is being shed. I have a large production of this hormone for only the first day. It hurts really REALLY bad and I often throw up because of it if I don’t stay hydrated before hand. Fortunately it only lasts the first day of the 7, the rest of the time in completely fine.

Only to be released later with the all-clear from the physicians: Don't worry, your body is only practizing for your period, so you will be fine. And I thought to myself: If this is only foreplay, what horrors await me once it starts for real???😱

The conversation about pads vs tampons was handled poorly. The appropriate response would've been, "Personally, I don't use pads but some women do" without the faces and comments. Women deal with enough judgement and we don't need to judge or label other women because they use pads over tampons or cups. A lot of women who wear them would disagree with the statements made about them in this video anyway.

Yeah- it’s not easy to put a tampon in when you’re younger, it’s quite uncomfortable. Also, pads are sanitary products so they are meant for your periods so there’s nothing wrong with using them 🙄

True. I hate the feeling of tampons because i dont really like the feeling when it is in there, or the tought that it is in there and I'm just scared that it might fall out if i move. I prefer pads, i dont feel wet down there, it might be because the kind of pads i choose?
@annoyingmusiclover19365 жыл бұрын
Ellie Parfitt I’ve never worn a pad ever. Even when I was 12 and had my first, I used a tampon. On top of that I am 4’8, still pretty much the size of a child. So that’s not necessarily true. And I also disagree with everyone saying they handled the situation bad with the pads. They were saying THEY feel that way when they wear pads, not that everyone should
@soggycardboard13935 жыл бұрын
Agreed. It's completely fine if someone prefers using a tampon or a cup, but I prefer the pads. For me it's quick and easy, and the thought of something going up my vagina doesn't really appeal to me right now 😂 The fear for me might be because my mum uses pads and so obviously when I had my first period I was led down the pad path, it's always been the norm to me even before I had my first period. My mum has this logic of 'It's meant to come out, so keeping it trapped inside of yourself doesn't seem healthy' and I agree with her. I mean it's probably fine to keep it absorbed inside but idk I like my mums side of it.

I got my first period yesterday in the middle of my history exam. I was sitting in one of those metal folding chairs with like 45 minutes left. I’d been sick (head cold, so sneezing, coughing, runny nose) so when I get nauseous, I thought I was gonna puke. Male teacher wouldn’t let me leave the room. Bled through my leggings into a pool in the chair and had to sit in it. After, I stayed and my poor (amazing female) biology teacher helped me clean it up. I want to die.
