It is genuinely fantastic. Basically gives the game a full story mode with progression (more than the build up to kk concert part of the game) and it ties into the main game really well.

Not a huge animal crossing fan, but I’m glad the dlc is a good product and bringing some value into the expansion pass. Hopefully Nintendo adds some more dlc’s to the expansion and makes it worth the upgrade.

I love animal crossing. Probably in a different way than many others. I moved to the US from Germany in 2017 and my family is still in Germany. I have not seen my 71… oh 72 year old mother since January 2020 and AC is the only way we get to spend time together right now. And we enjoy every second of it. It’s nice to send each other letters, leave notes by the town hall and visit the museum. Saying bye at the air port is eye tearing and sad every time. Playing that game with her helped a lot to cover the time to hopefully meeting again in person. Hopefully soon. But until then we still have AC. She has nearly 3,000 game hours and enjoys it and keeps her busy during this weird time.

i think the free update came early because u need 2 days to get brewster on your island if you dont time travel, so they dropped on the third, so you could find brewster on the island, then there would be the day when the museum closes, and on the fifth you have the other dlc plus brewster is finally here

I literally played the DLC nearly non stop that it kept me up at night (sleeping problems + ADHD + addictively fun DLC is not a good combo) and I had to force myself to go play Fire Emblem so I wouldn't get burnt out. It's so much fun, but gotta give myself a break. Especially since I have a knack for interior designing and it's one of my fave things to where I almost became an interior designer. The paid DLC speaks to me and I honestly don't know if I'll ever get tired of it. I've even gotten to see some of my dreamies which is great since I will never kick anyone off of my island. Honestly about the time it took Wood to build ten homes. Yeesh. In the time it took me to design 50 homes, my best friend had only built 8 homes. They just got to 10 and the cafe today. While I'm over here at like 53 or something. Edit: About the free DLC, I used to hate gyroids because they creeped me out, triggered my trypophobia, and their noises gave me sensory overload and made me cry that I literally had to turn them off in my villagers' houses while I was over. But these new ones? Some of them remind me of stim toys for ND folks and they make me really really really happy. They're easy on my ears, have adorable and fun designs, and they don't trigger my trypophobia anymore! Also I really dislike Kapp'n for personal reasons and loathed having him back, but he's pretty tolerable. Just as frustrating to deal with after the first few times like in New Leaf, but I appreciate clapping freely on the boat ride as well as the fact that he doesn't snap at you anymore (it's a trigger for me.) I'm used to games not really having many accommodations for ND folks or anyone with mental issues, but ACNH has been one of my biggest comfort games. I have a list of disorders and physical issues and it can be really difficult for me a lot. It's one reason I'm glad they removed Resetti and mean villagers. But overall, everything I've experienced with ACNH has been welcoming and wonderful. I've never felt bored, overwhelmed, or cried while playing it like I have with the older games. I'm not used to many games that feel like they give options for those with disabilities, but this game has so many little details that feel welcoming that it genuinely feels like a paradise for neurodivergent folk like me and my friends. The game makes me feel seen even if they didn't purposefully make the game like that, I feel very validated by my experiences and feel welcomed in the ACNH world and that just makes me very very very happy. It was always there before, but with the added stuff, it feels like it even more. And I have to say, that's one of the BEST aspects about these games. And I know I'm not the only disabled or neurodivergent person that feels this way. Even those with BPD, like me, have been really glad we moved away from the mean villagers because it can be severely triggering for us. It feels like they really tried to include a lot of different people when making the game and the DLCs and I'm not very used to that since most accommodations will often get backlash or told to go play another game made for them. So this makes me feel very seen and makes me very happy. I'm glad so many of us different kinds of people can enjoy the game together.
