I am glad that your home comes before KZbin. The nicer weather is definitely tempting us to cut days shorter! My kids thrive on routines and starting next week we have appointments as well. Oh well. Be flexible with the schedule.

My son loved Triston Strong too and we also used Seven and All study for that, it was a really good study guide, not too complicated and helped him get more out of the book.

Thanks for sharing! I can relate to all the appointments that seem like every day. I finally decided that Tuesday was our appointment day each week. Unless, of course, it's urgent. My oldest goes to a band group on Tuesday, so I decided that's also our appointment day lol. It's working out SO well!! For math, you might like CTC math. We use it for our 4 kids, and it's been awesome for us. It might be worth checking out :)

We have noticed the same with MUS Pre-Algebra. My son has just completed lesson 13, but for the last two lessons, we had to stretch each over 2 weeks. We have brought back in Saxon 87, which he gave up on a year ago and started back at lesson 45. We are doing one page of MUS a day and creating some on the Demme Platform, purposely slowing it right down. We have decided to restart Saxon for good, and get to end of Pre-Algebra but probably won’t use their next course. Interested to know what program you will choose for the fall? Oak meadow looks a great curriculum.

always happy to see your videos. Continue to be intentional about your homeschool, make realistic goals and savor the moments. What standardized tests do you use? Summer is for school or going to the springs its too hot...lol

Thank you for your videos. My son turned 4 during this school year, he is currently in public school preK-3 full day/9am-3pm M-F...but my husband and I are thinking of keeping him home with me again to homeschool him for preK-4.I want to, and at the same time I'm afraid of not doing things 'correctly'- even though it's preK. I'm not sure which particular skills/information will need to be learned this upcoming year. How do you determine that? Also how do you incorporate your health appointments (for yourself)? The school district is not meeting our needs, and it's disappointing. He's on the autism spectrum and is on track or a bit beyond when it comes to preK work. He was taught at home until prek-3. He has speech and ABA therapy,but is on the wait-list for physical therapy again and occupational therapy. We need him to receive his therapy, and education, not one or the other. Since I have to pick him up mid or late school day for speech therapy, my husband and I think we're doing a disservice to him, especially when PT and OT starts. We live in NJ

I always look forward to and enjoy your videos, from here in the U.K.! - with a kindergartener soon-to-be first grader here! We are big fans of MWC too. I was wondering how you might handle when your enthusiastic child (who enjoys Maths) does not have the motivation to read, even if they are capable? We are on lesson 45 out of 53 with AAR and have hit a wall as my child suddenly looks at the chapters in the hardback, sees all the words and seemingly feels overwhelmed. I suggest breaking it down and doing a few pages to break up the lesson but he has lost that motivation. He is capable but it's building the mental resilience to keep trying without giving up while not pushing too hard. I have a book called "Phonics Pathways" which has lists of words to read, but it's quite dry. Perhaps an idea for a future video, if it's something that resonates or has resonated. Thanks!

Hi, not sure if my comment posted, but the short part: thank you for your videos. My husband and I enrolled our son into preK-3, but we are thinking of homeschooling him for Pre-K4, possibly kindergarten to. How did you decide? How did you find out what your children need to know in preK to advance to kindergarten and beyond? We want to pull our son out because he's on the autism spectrum with therapy needs. Speech appointments are towards the middle and end of his school day (early dismissal), has ABA therapy, and still needs physical therapy and occupational therapy. He turned 4 in December and we live in NJ. His school is public school, and the day is from 9am-3:20pm M-F

Hello Brittany, Do you have a 5th grade and 6th grade schedule that you were/are following to share? You and I have a lot of similar curriculum picks. It just seem it was hard to fit it all in this year. I found myself putting down a lot of things to pick up other things. At one point it became overwhelming for me. I am just looking for guidance on how to balance it to get it all in.

Can you make a video of where you get curriculums? I’m always scared to buy them online because return policies etc. so I drive 2.5 hrs to view curriculums and it’s a small selection.

Is it beneficial to take a big summer break? Or taking break here and there and school everyday when we have somewhere to go we just take a break?

Hi Brittany! I love all your videos. It was nice to see you again. This is a random question. Do you happen to recommend any material (workbooks, etc.) for first-grade number bonds?
@brittanyolga7 ай бұрын
I don't know any specific resources. However, number bonds is actually already build in our First Grade Math with Confidence.
@tori.homeschoolingmom7 ай бұрын
The game “Race to Planet X” is all about number bonds. You have to build number bonds with 3 cards to advance on the board, and you get more points for sums over 10.
