Talking while driving achieves the following: - slightly dynamic background views - background noise - you are distracted, which is why you are repeating yourself a lot, making this longer than it needs to be - distraction works both ways, you might not react in time to stuff on the road

I could have sworn that you were like all those other youtubers selling courses and saying that AI sucks and that no software engineer will get replaced, etc lol But I just saw your video from 2 months ago on this topic and actually you were also very clear then that less of them will be needed. Most people don't realize that it's not black or white and it has nothing to do with replacing ALL software engineers, it's about 1 or 2 good ones with AI being able to do the work that would have previously taken entire teams. And it's not just AI changing things, it's also globalization and easy access to way cheaper contractors/freelancers/agencies from abroad (who of course are also using AI to multiply their output). Now, if you add to all the laid off software engineers the prolifaration of development bootcamps (some of them ridiculously expensive, btw) and the mass influx of people new to the industry with very little experience and narrow skills, and the whole thing is a disaster from a human/labor perspective.

A good software engineer that if brimming with cool new ideas for new kinds of software, is going to do extraordinarily well over the next 5 years. A software engineer that has no smart ideas of their own, and can only build based on direction is going to be working at mcD's

Interesting you say that. As a scrum QA engineer, I believe testers will be in more demand eventually because of AI. Maybe those SD engineers should transition to test roles. Side note, that's why I love this career so much, many many different avenues you can go.

From what I've seen, a good deal of QA roles are popping up overseas, particularly LatAm, E. Asia, and less so in E. Europe. I believe if you're bilingual and can work across multiple timelines, that may work to your advantage

@gediminasmorkys3589 in an agile environment, they are scrum testers for functional work. So they test the functional requirements before any story is delivered. Typically the role is just called QA (quality assurance) If you're a QA Engineer, you most likely write automated tests and have a more technical background.
