The BMW M4 CSL aims to set new standards in its segment. The famous Nordschleife and the area around the Nürburgring are ideal testing grounds to realise this goal. Stay tuned for more to come soon.
BMW M4 CSL:
Provisorial values: Fuel consumption weighted combined in l/100 km: 10.1-9.8 (WLTP), CO2 emissions weighted combined in g/km: 227-222 (WLTP)
Official data on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions were determined in accordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment. For newly type-tested vehicles since 01.01.2021, the official data no longer exist according to NEDC, but only according to WLTP. For more information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures, see www.bmw.de/wltp.

They are also different textures on the "up" and "down" shift paddles. As the two paddles move with the wheel you can feel the difference and (hopefully) know which is which.

BMW M has perfected a formula that even the likes of ferrari, lambo, mclaren and other exotic manufacturers don't have. BMW M is truly a special brand for the enthusiasts. You can never replicate the feel of an M car. Not possible.

I totally agree. Prior to driving my present 2021 X5M, I’ve driven non M BMWs, RR SVR, Audi and Porsche. Nothing and I mean absolutely nothing compares to an M car. 🔵🔴⚪️

BMW-Group and BMW M it´s not allowed to build Supercars as for Example their M10. The Main-Reason why their Convertibles, Limousines, Grand Tourismes and so else from compact to Middle-class and further are traditional Reference in their Class for Drivers of its own...

Massive BMW fan, and serial owner (on my 5th currently). I do absolutely love the performance of this gen M4, and the CSL can only be better again. Am I starting to be a bit cynical about this gen's 'products' though ? I think I am. This M4 is not a looker lets be honest, and CSL is supposed to mean Coupe, Sports Lightweight. I think it started to go downhill with the E46 M3 CSL, while being a brilliant car, it wasn't exactly light. And things have just got much heavier, with any CSL version basically a 'slightly' lighter version of the standard car, with a few trim upgrades. This particular car, even though it's a CSL, is really a bit of a porker, it's heavy. It isn't different enough from the standard M4 to justify what will no doubt be a massive price hike. More marketing and less actual Coupe Sports Lightweight.

Wir durften den M3 CSL im Rahmen einer KZbin-Testfahrt mal bewegen - eine wirklich aussergewöhnliches Auto! Sehr gut gewählt!

I really respect that even though BMW is intent on driving their brand into the ground by appealing to the Chinese market and devaluing the life out of how special the “m” badge once was, at least they still try to make the m cars with some sort of racing pedigree

Don't get your point. I don't see any connection between entering the Chinese market and loosing anything of what M was, is and will be. Sure the company will change as anything will change. M changed a lot during the last 50 years. That is how things go and doesnt mean it will end in a desaster

I think the engineers want what we want but the share holders want profit. I don't hold that against M. Its just sad that people growing up now won't have the passion for Bmw M that we do

Ich bin vorsichtig formuliert skeptisch. Die Kiste wird mega schnell sein aufgrund der Reifen. Aber wie leicht? Der CSL war seinerzeit auch sehr schnell, aber besticht im "long-run" einfach durch seinen Purismus und seine Leichtigkeit, ein gutes Gesamtpaket das Emotionen liefert. Ob der neue das schafft? Optisch schon mal schwierig.

I feel more like its using the CSL namesake. Unless its a true lightweight better model unlike the track based GTS then its going to be abit of a disappointment

Schau dir doch den Innenraum an, mit so viel Elektrikscheiß kann der gar nicht leicht werden. Der wird maximal 50kg leichter werden denke ich. Vielleicht kann man ja auf Wunsch einen leeren Innenraum bekommen mit Überrollbügel und richtigen Schalensitzen. Und vielleicht auch ohne Navi und den ganzen unnötigen Bums den man in einem Auto das fürn Track sein soll net gebrauchen kann. 🤷

Früher beim E92 wurde ja noch richtig rationalisiert. Infotainment raus usw. und nur das nötigste drinlassen. Denke bei dem wird das schweierig die wollen sicher allen Schnick schnack reinbringen, aber den auf irgendeine art leichter machen. Mein Tipp vllt. mal die sitze nicht elektrisch machen sondern mechanisch. Vllt die auch generell etwas abspecken. 2.Reihe raus vllt. auch nur optional und natürlich Rundum leichte metalle bzw. carbon. Denke aber mehr als 100 kriegen die nicht weg wenn überhaupt mehr als 75

@@stingraytt330 schau dir mal die Alpine A110s an, da siehst, dass auch mit Navi und Tacho Display ein Auto leicht sein kann. Das Problem sitzt eher in der viel zu aufwändigen Steuergeräte Peripherie und Komfort mist. Wenn man will geht das aber schon leicht, auch mit modernen Features und ein bisschen Audio.

Findest du den neuen m4 / m3 optisch immer noch nicht gut, also meiner Meinung nach haben sie bei den neuen design alles richtig gemacht. und zudem denke ich wird der neue CSL eine absolute renn Granate.

Would be awesome if the competition was exclusively offered with a manual on this CSL for exclusivity sake lol we all know the GTS might come out (god willing) so make that the full on track weapon with the wing and five planes, the CSL should be the medium imo

Buy one, and BMW will not warranty certain components if you take it on track. Unless the CSL is different, but my M2 and M3 comp, I was told by BMW UK they would not warranty Brakes, suspension, gearbox and engine.

Are you sure this is right? Normally warranties cover everything except competitive sports (I'm assuming you mean taking it on track days as a road car and not stripping/caging it etc).

People dont seem to understand BMW priority is function. The grill is completely functional for better cooling...if yall dont appreciate that theres a ricer division for you guys.

Kurze Anmerkung, täuscht das oder sieht die Lenksäule extrem lang aus? Ich ziehe das Lenkrad bei meinem F11 auch weit zu mir, aber das kommt mir schon sehr krass vor, oder? Grüße aus dem Werk Regensburg! :-)

Bring back a car like the E46 M3 CSL, a pure sounding symphony, naturally aspirated inline 6 high revving motor, maybe this time with a 3.8L. Porsche is doing it, so can the Motorsport division. I have a E46 M3 myself, with the CSL air box, stepped headers and 272/280 cams. That car will die with me. I will personally never buy a turbocharged M car. Hideous sounding M cars are just isn’t part of BMW’s true character.

I am with you..definitely the e46 era is one and only but we have to admit that if you ignore the terrible design of the new BMW's especially g8x platform, bmw makes still great ///M car that are driving focused... We have to keep patience to see if they see what bmw enthusiast want and expect...

@@reflexgs6620 i like the m2c. I myself have a 46 manual coupe with the carbon airbox etc. I don't have the 4.1 ratio rear diff yet but its on my watch list. Cars are progressing in a way, not necessarily a good way, but the S54 and S65 do compliment their chassis's very well. I drive alsorts of performance cars on a daily basis and i still love getting in my phoenix yellow noise box
