There was so much warning. I told my daughter at college in Alabama to fill up her gas tank to full, stock up on 3 days water and meal prep anything she can eat cold if the power goes out. I called her the morning before and she said she filled up her “hydroflask” and you can imagine my response. It isn’t just natural disasters we need to be prepared for because the government doesn’t have the resources to help everyone. There were 7,000 terrorists who attacked Israel on Oct. 7 and they killed about 1200. It was just released this past couple of days that of the millions of illegal immigrants 425,000 are known criminals. This doesn’t include the unknown number of terrorists. I’m not saying this to scare anyone and we should not live in fear but please prepare. I don’t think our small town could survive the scenes the Israelis went through. I think it would be devastating. So glad you are all ok. Now; let’s see how that tarp held up!

There were some high pressure systems in place in the center and west parts of the country which kept this storm to the east sparing the middle of the country while concentrating the carnage here. People expect the government to take care of them. Everyone needs footage for their TikTok channel, Selfies and such. They do not care about anyone but themselves. Insurances cannot keep up with all these damages. FEMA will not assist Being prepared on our own is the only way. This includes finding ways to live for days, weeks, months without power at all. I hate hearing about this. A lot of people can`t evacuate when this happens especially at the end of the month. I saw a lot saying this like disabled and elderly people before the storm. I was in Laura in Louisiana in 2020. It was very frightening. There was about 20,000 in damage to my sister`s home I sheltered in. My first really bad one was Betsy in New Orleans in 1965. My dad had to secure trailers at a job site and we got stranded because all the stores closed. His truck was destroyed and all the windows blew out in our hotel. A spirit or demon followed us back home to central Louisiana too. Seriously. Multiple witnesses saw it between 1965 to 1986, a glowing red floating vicious looking head, non human with huge eyes. I felt heat coming from it. New Orleans is a bad place! Lots of people saw similar things after Katrina. Ask the rescue workers about it.

My family lives in Asheville…..I was raised in Fairview. My sister and her family are still stranded in east Tenn. My brother lives in Fletcher. Im praying for all of you and wish that we could get to you all. We live in eastern NC, so we understand - many here lost everything in Floyd. But even during Floyd doesn’t compare to what I’ve seen on videos and have heard from my family. As a RN, the national guard had to come pick me up for work & I had to pack enough clothes for 3-4 days….I’m so so sorry, I’m so heartbroken and feel so helpless. I love my mountains. It is terrible what has happened in Florida too. I saw the seriousness of these storms when I went thru the eye of Hurricane Charlie in 2004. I was in Orlando and I got what you just got. Somehow I understood just how bad these storms can be and I moved out of Florida. Hopefullly I moved to a state the eye won't come over me, the eye of these storms is what is bad. It can be absolutely horrible if one of these storms decides to stall over you and they can do that. You could drown. Glad you are OK, have preps, and can at least get out one way. Watch out for these people if they get desperate. When Charlie hit me my stoplight was out for a month, a policeman sat there and directed traffic. If I turned right, 30 miles and they had no power for month. I called it the dead zone. I didn't go down into the dead zone, not even to help people.

A Hamm radio operator coordinated and got people to go to her address. Her Mom is ok, but she was trapped in a basement with her house collapsed on top.

Florida law requires all gas stations to have generators for pumping gas. That eliminates a problem after a hurricane hits hard, until the tanks run dry.

I am Subscribing for several reasons: I live in NC, in a small, urban city where you said soldiers should have been sent from to drop supplies to citizens in the local area. You mentioned Dane Wiggington. And lastly, you mentioned farming and permaculture. I do not have a farm but have a huge interest in permaculture and sustainable agriculture. If I had to guess, most of those people were young or implants from blue states. Most southerners know #1 it's dangerous on a bridge under those circumstances and #2 you should be prepared for at least a week or two without power/food. I do not understand why anyone wouldn't be prepared unless they've never experienced it.
