Hey everyone! Welcome to the continuation of our Scrap Mechanic co-op survival adventure! In this episode kAN and I take your guys' suggestion to attach a claw to our helicopter! This claw will hopefully make an easy task out of collecting farmers and getting them to the trader! hey i maybe have something for you: on my survival world i've locked a cow in the mechanik station and have a pole with a single piece of corn on it right in that high where the cow can't reach it but always try to get it. and my cow did never ever despawned. Maybe this can help you with your cow problem =) also great LP, keep on, i love it ♥

I thought everyone knew this. A good place is the last corner of the stairs, when the stairs meet the flat ground. I've been calling the place between the order-bot and the stairs the cow pens since like forever ago. The cows always try to get to the corn, keep moonwalking forward in place, yet never get the corn.

you could always put the default position of the thrusters so they point up and force the craft to the ground. meaning you need to be in the pilot seat to adjust them for flight.

Kosmo, I'll give you a hand here. The answer to the fuel and the chests is the devs haven't added that kind of thing in yet. Best way to think about it is this, any specialized container that can bypass space and time with a connection cannot be expanded upon with its connections. The best you can do with those connections is use them as storage for a storage system or vacuum pump, but outside of that 1 function specialized storage containers are locked at their current set maximum storage amount; 5 slots. This means fuel containers, battery containers, spud ammo containers, and water containers (the four that have the unique connection to specialized tools that allows them to supply their contents through time and space to said tools) cannot be expanded with a large chest and at the time I'm writing this, no one can dispute this with an example from vanilla survival. Any and all examples anyone's posted or seen is of a modded world or a preview. The chemical container is a bit special, or rather lack luster, in that I don't know what it connects to. It doesn't connect to the water cannon, so I believe it's the odd one out. Meaning it technically can be expanded upon, but only because you're shooting its contents with a vacuum pump, not a designated tool. There is no special trick or cheat or method in getting contents in a chest to go through a connection through a tube into a specialized container at this point in time. But the devs are looking into it. This would be part of their "refueling' creations they kind of hinted at at the beginning and we seem to not have. If we're able to vacuum pump fuel into a fuel container or huck batteries into a battery container that would mean we could potentially setup crude systems to pump extra stuff from chests into containers; but that is not the reality of the game right now.

I believe headshots are a thing, at least with Tapebots anyway. That's how you 1 shot kill them. I don't know about other bots and I don't know about the scatter effect of the shotgun (which is what you were using at the time) as it could make it less accurate.

Pulsing thrusters loses quite a bit of thrust but also uses less fuel, as of the current patch. It's definitely not a negligible amount. It's useful mainly because it lets you have a medium setting where you gently drift down if you don't push the button for full thrust (instead of either free falling or going up). From how your heli handles you'd probably save a lot of fuel just by not flying too high all the time. Also unlike a kill switch it'll make the heli drift down automatically when you leave the seat instead of relying on someone pressing (or NOT pressing) a switch :D

Hey, for the helicopter, since you are using 4 thrusters, it might give you more flight range if you put one thruster per fuel tank. Drain would probably be consistent, so you should be able to just keep track of one of the chests. You'd still have to refill all 4, but longer range. I'm curious if the storage chest weighs more than the fuel container.

I just wanted to suggest you about the chopper and and and 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 i just saw it flies without you ; just laughing; Two suggestions : 1. I used 3 sensors to detect the pilot then u don't need the kill switch, ( u can use one but bcz the driver saddle is 3 blocks wide sometimes it wont detect the pilot ; 2. Use one other arm behind the chopper when u flies it will rest under the rare chest ; and when u want to catch a farmer and also it would be awesome to put a sensor on the tail piece to close the claws immediately (i think it would be a simple challenge for kan to logic it)

2 things, I did some testing with the bomber idea. The exploding is inconsistent unless a whole system is designed with a spud gun also attached to the explosive to shoot it x amount of time after being released from the vehicle. Second, good thing the chopper flew off in the evening. Much easier to track at night than during the day..

lmao - kan puts in kill switch so you don't lose the chopper. Kosmo hits switch and loses chopper lololol. Well hopefully you get it back, but yes I think that the switch was in a bad location. Alternatively you could put a sensor pointing at the seat and you can't even turn on the engines if no sensor is triggered.

That ending lol! My thrust is tied to the driver seat so my flier doesn't leave without me. If you ever recover your flier, you could add a backboard on the back side of the claw grabber mechanism so the farmer doesn't roll right through. It could fold up flat when not in use to maintain balance.

Fuel in thrusters are different than engines. Engine depends on mostly weight, while thrusters depends on time and the power. Technically if you have a light vehicle you could lower the power to make it way more efficient. But you could also make a very light vehicle that can break the speed of sound and it could be as efficient since it will take less time to go to point A to point B. I made a flying machine that is super light and only has 1 thruster that doesn't use glitches but uses torque on engines and it can fly up to 7 mins with only 1 full gas container (you could use spring glitch but I just don't like using glitches). In conclusion - Higher level thrusters are more efficient (duh) - Lower power thrusters are more efficient - The longer the thrusters turn on the more fuel it burns (so pulsing does make it burn less fuel but also give less thrust) - Technically more weight doesn't mean less efficient (but lighter vehicle could use less thrusters or less power or just go faster) Your flying machine's fuel efficiency could be improved by : Using pulses instead of adjusting the angle of the thrusters to adjust the thrust. Use less thrusters (more thrusters on low power aren't more efficient than less thrusters on max power) If you are scouting an area, low power is better. But if you are going to a certain destination, full speed might be more efficient (If you go to fast you could get kicked out of your seat, not really sure if they have fixed this but it's scrap mechanic so I have very low expectations).

Pulsing thrusters reduces their thrust by the same amount as their fuel consumption, so you don’t gain any efficiency. However, it would be more efficient if you used variable thruster pulsing for height control instead of rotating the thrusters, because then the thrusters could always be angled at e.g. 75 degrees which would direct 96,5% of the thrust directly downwards. Right now, the thrusters seem to be angled at around 30 degrees on average which only directs 50% of thrust downwards. In my experience this also would improve controllability because the response of pulsing logic is near instant compared to rotating bearings.

I have a suggestion on how to improve the fuel efficiency of your helicopter. You need to take all of your thrusters and point them straight down so that all of their thrust is put into lift and not into rotating the blades and then spin them with a controller or a separate motor keep the stability and then you can make a logic timer to pulse the engines and get your throttle control that way since you steer with suspension glitches anyway

A sledgehammer does 5 damage Per potato: A spudgun does 7 damage[10 if headshot if i'm not wrong] A spud shotgun does 8 damage[at point blank range](2 spuds per shot so 16 damage when you press the trigger once) A spudling gun does 5 damage I'm gonna list the number of shots needed to kill in this order in a bracket A totebot has 15 health(3 hits,3 spuds,2 spuds,3 spuds) A haybot has 25 health(5 hits,4 spuds[3 spuds],4 spuds,5 spuds) A tapebot has 10 health(2 hits,2 spuds[1 spud],2 spuds,2spuds) A farmbot has 400 health(NA,58 spuds,25 spuds,80 spuds) Also you can hit tapebot rolls back at them There are headshots in sm only for haybots and tapebots The closer you are to the enemy, the shotgun will hit harder because game damage falloff works like that You will notice if you are closer you will take 2 shots while if you are father it takes 4 shots Like so kosmo can see

That's actually a great idea! And also try to use a Net Block hollow cube to move through the warehouse without taking damage, then get into melee distance of the tapebots, open a tiny hole but not in front of the tapebots' weapon, and use that hole to hit the tapebots with the hammer. It doesn't work with explosive-throwing bots, though.

If you hammer the farmers at the very top or very bottom it'll give him some top or back spin depending on which you need. Makes 'em a little easier to maneuver into the bed of a truck. You can hit them on their far left or right to put left or right english on 'em, as well, though, in my experience that's less useful. Most useful by far is backspin, so they don't travel as far with each hammer strike.

Fantmod has wireless pipes and a piece to connect any chest as a container for fuel, Chem, water, oil ammo. An actual helicopter rotors and gyros.

I agree with not making the boat a paddleboat... even though it might probably be less fuel efficient with thrusters than it is with paddles, I still think Thrusters will be faster... you just need more fuel tanks on the boat, so you're not having to keep refilling them as often.

Good idea! sometimes the sensors have trouble swing the player when the vehicle is on a slope or accelerating, but if they can solve that problem it would be really effective.

I don't play scrap mechanic but i try to understand and learn from watching you or scrapman and some times kan but i will say that some of my understanding is bad because some of my ideas would idk lag the game if you tryed them. Lol but i still try to say hey i don't know how to play whats so ever or at least like you pros but why not try this or that to help ya think of something else that would actually work or use a piece of my idea or a other to do something but thats only with building things dont ask me about warehouses the only thing i can come up with is to build a tank with loads of guns and hope for the best. Lol. If you read this thank you for at least looking. This game Community is little bit more safer at saying hey this idea won't work to a new guy (like me) or a pro. I once say a awesome idea saying for Farming Simulator that the KZbinr showed and i said try to use a modded steam tractor and use it as a main tractor like they would have to use it throughout the series and this one guy rip me a new one saying since i don't play farming simulator that i shouldn't be giving ideas because i don't know anything or understand it. But i did understand to a point and thats why i gave the idea i knew it would work if the KZbinr would put the time to try it out. But NO this reply hater had to burn and rip me a new one for even thinking my idea was even good. So yeah at least with this game. You guys are like hey we should try this because a comment say something about it even though it sounds like they never played the game it might just work and i thank the scrap mechanic community for being nice and so is the farming simulator community but you don't need to rip someone a new one just to get your way. I get that im not a prooo at this game or Farming Simulator but its nice to say hey sorry that won't work because of thisss or not and not rip someone a new one saying that my idea or a other is bad because ya play the game more. Head shots only counts for Tapebots unless they aren't aware of you. I don't like the shotgun, 2 patatoes for 4 projectiles but each are half damage so it's less than 2 potatoes damage unless all 4 hits.
