Who are Kara and Nate?!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

Yea, they're great as a couple. Nate is someone we admire too. We remember when they were building this channel using various credit card gimmicks for air miles and counting pennies for travel. They've really created their own brand of truly likeable people who take on just about anything.

Omg, my husband and I stayed at Rick and Bec’s bed and breakfast and saw a note that said the family wasn’t home. You are bringing back so many happy memories. My husband and I cycled Italy and Europe for our honeymoon for over a year., in 1977 and 78. Big difference is that his bike weighed 70 lbs and mine 55 as we carried all of our equipment. My bike was a 5 speed and his a 10. Our budget of $3.50 Ca each per day did not allow for restaurants etc as the money had to pay for water, food and brake pads and if necessary, camping tho mostly we camped for free. Our longest cycling day was 110 miles (in France). Sometimes we would push our bikes up the mountain for 1/2 a day and zoom back down..hence having to have a gazillian brake rubbers with us. We mostly ate bread, cheese and salami or mortadella, but once I splurged on a gelato to share :) Tuscany was a dream for us, and as we were not on a timeline we did spend a few days of budget breaking in Rome, Florence and Sienna. It was a trip of a lifetime for us. We broke our camera a few weeks in and so we were unable to document out trip other than my journaling and drawings. Thanks to the internet I can revisit towns now :) I cannot tell you how much I live vicariously through your videos. Can't wait to see the next instalment. (One thing we found was that we could not partake in a large lunch or wine as we couldn't ride well after, only wanting to nap :) We did average 50 miles per day and rode through 9 countries. We only had one bad experience in that time with a "gentleman" telling us we could not miss a town. When we said that we did not want to descend into the town down an entire mountain only having to climb back up to leave. He assured us there were roads out the other side that would take us on our way. We trusted him and headed down the mountain to a beautiful town, but only to find that the only way out was the way we had entered. Did he steer us wrong on purpose?? We will never know but that was really unfortunate. I had better shut up now because I could go on all day as the memories flood back. Safe and happy journey to you all. 💜

I once slept in a tent during a storm so heavy that not only was I getting slapped in the face by wet tent, the rain was driving straight through both the fly cover and the inner tent. Within the first hour inside was soaking wet, mattress, blankets, pillows the lot. Amazingly enough we slept ok, I dont even remember being really cold after the first 10 minutes or so.....but omg were we wrinkled prunes in the morning.....
