I think the Kuina/Tashigi thing is just that they are relatives, likely cousins. Since Kuina's family comes from Wano a long time ago, they obviously had a bunch of kids in the East Blue to make Shimotsuki Village. I think it was mentioned in an SBS

After that, Kuzan doesn't stop the young marines, he concentrates on Garp, making their escape way easier. TO ME, that was Garp saying to him "You Know what to do, you are Not a student anymore" and Kuzan making the hard choice to sacrifice his mentor to give a chance to himself (to keep infiltrating Black Beard crew) and to the young marines (to escape). The way I see it, Lucci and Luffy's awakening for a zoan are TRUE awakenings. I think the gaol beasts in Impel Down, who were the first ones called awakened zoans, I think were merely nascent awakened. And I think Chopper's Monster Point is also a nascent awakened.

First the user doesn't turn into a giant monster they instead enter an enhanced hybrid form wreathed by clouds with devil fruit spirals in them.(It is unknown if they can still enter other forms.) It imparts them a similar boost in strength but drains their stamina instead of boosting it and while it affects their personality more it doesn't rob them of their own will, as Luffy himself confirmed during his first awakening when Kaido directly asked if he was a different person. We also see it affecting Lucci's personality in a similar fashion his coldness practically disappears as he gets wrapped up in the thrill of violence and has a much more manic bloodthirst. Neither him nor Luffy are truly possessed so much as the will of the fruit is mixed with their own.
