These are becoming EXTREMELY valuable. Of course it's going to break, they always do lol. I unfortunately had to sell my '88 IROC Z28 after my mom had a stroke. Money went towards a nurse but I get a very good amount for it. I kept it completely stock except for a few necessary aftermarket accessories; Flowmaster exhaust, replaced the performance chip my mom installed when I was a kid with a newer version, replaced all the carpets, new left side louver, rock hit the bottom fin and snapped it off. Brittle because of the Florida sun even though it was garage kept. New AC unit because the stock was garbage. I got $45,000 three years ago because I kept it in great shape ESPECIALLY the paint. I wanted to keep it and eventually tear the engine apart and rebuild it but I never did get around to it. Last I heard a Chevy dealership in California (pukes) bought it and it's in their show room. So, you could be looking at a seriously awesome investment if that's what you want.

i have done some similar work on my drift camaro over the years for sealing the fuel tank and the only thing i have found that will actually seal a tank is seal all or e6000 sealer. i hope it works out and doesnt break down from the fuel or fuel gases.

If you want a super reliable beater well I wouldn't call it a beat or necessarily get yourself a 98 manual Toyota Tacoma they have four wheel drive locking diff get great gas mileage and they're reliable as hell mine just hit 545k and the last 150k miles I put on it was with a turbo kit I made for it and it still runs like a champ!

Highly recommend using MACK yes the Semi company’s RTV! The shit is insane and will have you convinced first time! We use it on ALL trucks cummins, freightliner, etc! And these trucks CANT leak due to inspection and RANDOM inspections! Buy yourself a tube or a box you’ll thank me!! Also Hondabond is pretty good! WAY better than any Permatex

Don't use the black RTV to seal the wires for the fuel pump. The black stuff degrades when exposed to gas. Use the orange RTV, its made to withstand exposure to gas.

fuel pumps can freeze up if its low on fuel cause its used to cool the pump an it will cause them to seize up like that, and hitting the tank can knock it loose, but it will fail again, its got a spot in the electric motor that if it ever stops there it takes being hit while power is on it to free it up. oh yea its not an easy fuel pump job compared to some, u can cut a access hole an go through the top so the tank dont have to be dropped, i done this to my 97 trans am they r similar, but u can buy a kit to do the access hole.

I had a black & Gold 86' IROC ( w/ tan int.) Loaded ..... paid aprox 18K new ! Drove it for 6 months put on about 15K miles & sold it for 16.5K ! Fun summer car, drove on rails... quick but slow mid range top speed ok ( ran mid 15's bone stock ) For pure straight ahead speed I'll take any of my pre- 75' Chevy muscle/sports cars (A few of my favorites - 66'Chevelle SS , 69' Camaro SS , 2 Vette's 70' & 72' ) ✌😎 ( What no T-tops ? ) 😆 Every mid 80's Camaro needs T-tops 😉 They do develop leaks as they get older ! ( Don't we all LOL ) Best of luck with a new ride..... A LS is a good proven reliable swap 😉

And or finish up the dually to make that your main truck and sell the ram to combine it with your insurance money from the totaled Camaro to get yourself either another corvette or a Mclaren or exotic to mob around with Justin and itsjusta6! Also tell Ham to do a complete buff and was after using a clay bar over the paint. A clay bar removes even the swirl marks in the paint that even comes from factory. It’ll make the paint like a fricken mirror and remove a lot of the old oxidation. Then have him do a new clear coat to preserve it. I’m not sure if it’s old enough to still be using lacquer paint, but just be careful detailing it if so and the clear coat will be a major upgrade either way and if he gets it wrapped it’ll adhere even better with a clear coat done.
