The lawyer sounded very unprofessional and leave you guys on your own. As a realtor myself,I would never let things like this happen. This is why it is important to choose who you work with. Anyhow, congratulations on your new home.

I randomly came across this video. Your lawyer deserves a special place in h£ll. I bought a new house last year, my lawyer was an old English gentleman and man he was so nice & kind. It was my first home buying experience in Canada and the way he explained me process, made sure I have enough funds, wrote down every single detail for me on a piece of paper, explained me charges, title insurance etc. It was simply amazing 😍 I didn't expect such a service - he went above & beyond and made the process so hassle-free for me. Not a blanket statement / but from personal experience - avoid any dealings with Desi lawyers - I find them shady as a h€ll. They are only interested in their fees, monies and don't even have care, empathy about their client. Well, majority of them are like that. For Desi client - chalta hai attitude 🤡

Can’t comment on all Indian lawyers but our lawyer was very disappointing. 😓

An uphill task for a newcomer couple to own home & car within a year of landing in GTA area. By the way we also own a Nissan minivan for over a decade and the engine neither lost power nor consumed oil - I must say it's a good brand selection.

Thanks a lot.. Great to know that you also drive Nissan.. we also don’t have any complaints so far.

I really liked it when you said you guys experienced all 5 stages. But everything happens for a reason, though the experience was bitter but the learning it gave you will last forever. Few learnings: - Always choose a good lawyer. - Always keep the closing date in mid of the week prefer Wednesday. If there was is a long weekend coming then move it to Tuesday. - Always try to keep a day or two gap between closings or handing over the lease start date. Though, either party has to pay extra but its always a buffer. - You could have claimed cost of inconvenience from your lawyer. He would have compensated you guys. Since, the mistake was from his part or mortgage provider. We did claim the amount in our case. - Question: did the seller charged you extra as you guys deviated from your closing date? - why did you guys choose Nissan? Any preference ? - by the way who is better driver? - who is impatient driver? Why am I saying this I was in similar situation and we were hit with long weekend. So I totally understand how was your weekend went. You guys didn't talk about what did you do during the weekend and what was going through your mind?

Thank you. Seller did not charge us for the delay. We wanted to go with Nissan/ Toyota or Honda due to reliability over long term and budget.

I've also got to say this - don't hire a lawyer/real estate agent just because he/she is Indian or from your home state. The way that he responded to one of your questions, I wanted to jump through the screen and slap him.

We did see Google Reviews which were all 5 star and spoke to an ex-client before finalising the lawyer.

Sorry to be critical guy, but this is partially your fault. Your possession day should NEVER be the same as your move-in day. If you planned better, you should have kept at least one week’s gap between obtaining keys (possession day) and your move-in day. Also, please use the word ‘condo’ for your place because a condo is not a house.
@becaind10 ай бұрын
Yeah, it is a learning to keep some buffer days. Also, condo is a very Canadian Term- our viewers from India may not be aware. House is universally used.

The lawyer when he said "What should i do" is the most unprofessional thing i have ever heard. I personally as a realtor take care of everything even if it is some one else's fault. The way he talked to you seems like he is saying you are on your own
