You two were made for each other lol! My wife and I are like that. We often muse that one day God was looking over his "odds and ends pieces" and said, you know, these two would go together so he put us in proximity to each other so that we found each other and we never looked back. In our 70's now and we know that we are each others last partner because we no longer have time to train a new recruit lol!! Love you two and enjoy sharing your adventures!

@@therealgirlinthewoods the block building is in good condition surprisingly (except the roof obviously). You can put outdoor metal siding over the outside block and make it nice. That block building has a lot of potentional for a small amount of money. Good added resale value to the property to store tools, winter gear ext or make the door way bigger and store snow mobiles possibly etc. Think outside the box. for this block building. It's clear it was build to last. And, look at home exterior remodel you tube videos from Florida or Southern states ideas as, we use block down here for our homes = hurricane proof and for you guys winter proof. 😊

I bought an estate property when I got the opportunity two years ago. I thought my cabin was gross! Watching this video, I am blessed! My previous owner was thankfully obsessed with lumber and tarps, aluminum louvered windows and a dozen or more 20lb propane tanks. I can build raised garden beds and a attached green house atrium on the back of my 24x32 ft log sided cabin. Solar heat! He left me enough 2x12x20 ft boards to build it all! He also left a 32 ft 1984 Yellowstone 5th wheel. Think I will redo the inside next spring and Airbnb it! So much to do, but, like you, I love being a girl in the woods...🥰
@johnnyrockker8292 жыл бұрын
I agree it's gross. But over time I think I would rehab some old logs on the property make some roof trusses. Put some tin on it and strong doors. And you would have nice storage building to keep your tools in for the winter. Have fun be safe.

Can’t agree more. Just give it some time and perhaps change the clean up process. John Deer that mofo. Or use some of those shovels. Brooke put some ivy in the ground and watch it grow over the concrete. 😄

👍👍👍. That bunker is a Gift Horse. Once cleaned up, a bit of work thereon over time and you'll have lockable secure storage for whatever .. and it'll be out of sight and an asset. One can never have too much storage space .. or plastic bags 😁. Something to mull over ..

Too bad the builder didn't know how to make a decent roof. Granted even from a defensive standpoint the structure had issues. Door was questionable (Id bet easy money it secured with a Master or some other joke brand padlock), ground floor windows were useless weak points (provided little light and visibility). Walls probably wouldn't even stand up to much. On the upside it would make an ok shed/workshop once cleaned up and a decent roof put up.
@DavidSmith-ss1cg Жыл бұрын
@@Klaaism - I think Brooke's little lecture at the end of the video is the BEST idea; Your last sentence takes care of plans for the "Surviving Structure"- use the footprint and frame to make a nice woodshed/storage shed and build a nicer cabin in the space she found there. The property is near power, so that it could be "semi off-grid," and then build a generator into the foundation space under the cabin - in a shelf in a root cellar underneath it all. If water was available, the property could be made into an attractive getaway cabin for someone who can pay well for it.

I understood what you're going thru immediately. When we bought the neighors property to have more land the cabins and buildings on it seemed in iur imagination easy to clear. Two years later we are still claering. For people watching it now, off grid work is not as easy as in an urban setting. Everything you pick up has to be stored somewhere for you to pick up again later to take it away. End up touching the same debris and dirt over and over untill it finally leaves your trailer or car. And the feeling than is an hours long smile. Good luck Brooke.
