Cool stuff. Reminds me of my best friend and I beginning to dig together in our teens at the two local used record shops and we’d hit garage sales, the monthly flea market, thrift stores, anyplace we could find them. That was pre-internet. And we were curious about everything, all genres. I’d go into a shop and come out with a Sabbath, Mac, fusion, disco, psych, and they could never figure out what I was doing. A lot of fun and I’m still collecting today, as eclectic as ever, always checking out new sounds. Enjoying the videos, thanks. That first Devo is great! Give it a chance. It’s a grower.

Thats awesome man! I would've loved to dig in a pre internet world. I love hitting up the flea markets, garage sales, antiques stores, and everything like that. Its so fun! I think I will give Devo a chance at some point. Thanks for watching ✌☮

Everyone below pretty much shared my sentiments, but I just want to say that it’s really great that you have your friend, Matthew, to share this great hobby with. It reminds me of when I lived in Vegas and a vinyl collector friend and I would peruse Zia Records among other record shops and now, I have NOBODY to share the hobby with since making the huge mistake of moving to north Idaho. My friend is still in touch and we discuss our cool finds in phone conversations, so not a total loss. Hobbies help to build strong friendships! Have fun 😊

I'm so stoked when younger collectors score like this 16:30 Although, I had that BOC LP and loved it to death, QC on Columbia LP releases was pretty poor and they frequently had debris on the discs during manufacture, causing skipping. It was a major pissoff and A&M was almost as bad. I would play that disc to see if there are any issues and if there are having it cleaned thoroughly by a professional.
@sorinvinyl15234 ай бұрын
I'm stoked too haha! Fortunately the BOC albums I got play just fine, and a copy that clean sounds amazing! I guess I am lucky. ✌☮

5150 was a huge deal when it was first released! The first album without DLR and no one knew how they would sound? I personally was going through a lot of adolescent family drama at the time so I was looking for some solace. After buying this album the day it came out in 86 I was relieved that the core VH sound was still there in every respect: Eddie, Al, and Mike.

My dad is actually going to see the Van Halen tribute with Sammy Hagar today! Ig not too much of a tribute if it includes him, but still very cool. My dad loves all of their discography, with DLR and Sammy Hagar. It was super cool to get one in the shrink wrap. Thanks for watching and sharing! ✌☮

Can you guys give advice on a good vinyl player. I don’t wanna mess up any of my 1st presses with my current setup
@sorinvinyl15235 ай бұрын
I can try :) Pretty much anything with a counterweight will help prevent damage, this way, you can control how much force the needle presses into the grooves. I have a technics SL-B2 which I believe was made in the 80s. You can probably get a decent one in working shape for $150-$180 bucks. Technics is a good brand. I would reccomended upgrading the cartridge as well. Ortiphon is a great brand. As for new gear, I really don't know what to reccomend. Hope this helps ✌☮

I've had horrible luck finding records on Marketplace. All I've run into are wackos that think their stuff is worth gold or they keep raising the price that they want for them because "someone" tells them they are worth a lot of money. I've had terrible experiences with that.
