Hi, Sorin. I’ve been a record zealot for 53 years. I’m a lifelong U2 fanatic. My wife and I saw the Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary tour in 2017 in Pasadena, CA at the Rose Bowl and then last year for the 30th Anniversary Achtung Baby Tour at The Sphere in Las Vegas, NV. I’ve been to hundreds of shows in my life, and those two shows were magnificent and magical… just stunning. Great to see you and your gal sharing your love for vinyl and music. You both have such a great vibration about you. Love it.

Great video guys! I’m not a huge U2 fan but I did see them open for J. Geils in 82. Also saw VH quite a few times with DLR in the early 80’s. I would always sit on Eddie’s side of the stage and I’d be deaf for an hour after the show.

You can't complain about that result Sorin and brilliant you're enjoying your hobby with your girlfriend. My partner doesn't have the passion of Lauren for music but thankfully she doesn't complain about my spending or that there's 1000s of records in our living room 😂. I've never got into 80s guitar music even though I'm a child of the 80s. My passion was hip hop back then so when I first heard Sly Stone, Funkadelic, The Meters etc in the late 80s there was no way that 80s music could compete with that vintage sound to my ears and that's stayed with me to this day. All the best Nige

Great score. I picked up The Cult "Love" back when it first came out. It took a couple of listens but I really grew to like it. Now, it seems to be worth some good coin for an original press. It will certainly more than pay for all the other records you purchased.

Score! Axis Bold As Love is underrated. Clash SCORE! We got sent a promo of GNR and I just didn’t get it. Rock fatigue back in the day. I think Poison broke me. I put all those kinds of records away and started listening to the blues and 60’s gems. Soft spot for Cult Electric and Too Fast For Love…heady times. No Purple Rain? Joshua Tree? Surprised Metallica wasn’t in that collection-someone must have pulled them…..I spoke too soon. Sweet score.
@sorinvinyl15237 ай бұрын
I love GnR! I love the 70s hard rock stuff, and to me, its like that but with dirtier lyrics. Plus I remember a lot of those songs from my childhood. I stick to the 60s a lot, so its nice to branch out. No purple rain, but I just found a really clean copy! Thanks for watching! ✌

Definitely share London Calling by The Clash with your girlfriend. Especially the song 'Lost in a Supermarket'. What a tune...( By the way, Appetite for Destruction is a killer with no filler) Furthermore, Ride the Lightning is the greatest metal album ever released. (which means that Master of Puppets is overrated!)

Hey man, great to see you with your better half. JK. Great live U2 lps, I wore those out in high school. Queen is essential. The Eagles I can't connect with, just saying. Crue rocks! Kiss solo records are not that great, they were cashing in on their popularity. Cult is a solid album. Ronnie James Dio Sabbath is great stuff. I wore that Ozzy record out in my teens. Gotta love Hendrix. The Song Remains The Same movie is outstanding. Rage is killer. G n R classic, maybe the last great rock and roll record of its time. Every song smokes. Slayer hard to find originals. Peace ✌ ☮ 🕊

The Eagles don't suck. It's just AOR and overplayed. High rotation on the airwaves sucks the life out of music. Like, I'd probably hate Oasis for all the reasons I do, but I wouldn't loathe them if they hadn't got such hype and saturation.

John McLaughlin was raw, technically superior and more inventive than Hendrix hands down. Hendrix is of course iconic but compare Mahavishnu Orchestra's - Inner Mounting Flame to Hendrix's - The Cry of Love. Both 1971. No comparison. Likewise you have Holdsworth, Fripp, FZ... Jimi was a monster but though I don't like to say 'overated', compared to these guys he was middling as an innovator. There are levels to this shit that get overlooked because of the luminous tragic glamour... the dark romance and commercial interest of a short lived troubadour like Jimi.
@sorinvinyl15236 ай бұрын
I would agree, but Jimi Hendrix showmanship was out of this world. Literally an alien from outerspace. I love Hendrix so so much. John McLaughlin, Holdsworth, and Fripp are probably technically superior, but Hendrix just blows me away in a different manner. ✌☮

@@sorinvinyl1523 That's fair. I take nothing away from him & it's silly comparing musicians as singular and unique in approach as all of the above. I just like to insert the others in the conversation when greatness comes up 'cause they earned the shine.
