i've wanted one for a long time.... so i designed it, got all the measurements, allan bought all the supplies and we put it together! we did have someone plane the wood down to get precise measurements (the wood from the timber yard was a bit wonky) and also sand it down with an electric sander (now i want one of those for my tool box so i can do it myself!)...
we used to have a door between our kitchen and living room which we took down years ago (to open up our house a bit and be able to use the wall space for deco) - we had left the hinges on the door frame so we ended up mounting our mug shelf on the hinges so now it turns - so fun!
i made the spaces for the mugs different sizes so it would look a bit quirky! :)
we painted it the same grey as our living room wall, since it's visible from that room, so the colors would flow well from the kitchen to the living room.
we had a BLAST building this together... i am so, so proud of @alanosucre and i.... our mug shelf is wonderful!! ❤
