[Lyrics] We've been living in the shadows everyday Are we ever gonna learn from our mistakes? Our innocence, our ignorance, were lost but they'll be found The innocence of years we spent I remember the days, between the past and the pain We were never afraid of places unknown There was nothing to fear, there was faith in the air We will never be scared of letting go What happened to the world I used to know? What happened to the world I used to know? What happened to the world I used to know? We've been given all these chances everyday Another step to take in this could change Our innocence, our ignorance were lost but they'll be found The innocence of years we spent I remember the days, between the past and the pain We were never afraid of places unknown There was nothing to fear, there was faith in the air We will never be scared of letting go What happened to the world I used to know? Even though it's not the same, remember when we made our first steps It's always just a thought away, holding on to never forget I still feel it now I remember the days, between the past and the pain We were never afraid of places unknown There was nothing to fear, there was faith in the air We will never be scared of letting go What happened to the world I used to know? What happened to the world I used to know? We were living in the shadows everyday Are we ever gonna learn from our mistakes? What happened to the world I used to know?

Its definately not even close but its one of the couple songs on this record that are mildly enjoyable if you shut your brain off to what they used to do and the terrible production and just see it as it is I guess. This and tracing back roots were their rough patch for sure but their recent output was a huge comeback. Its sad that Kyle won't be a part of their next album as their newest singles and tributes to him show tons of promise. RIP Kyle. At least he didnt go out on this album and made his last with the band something to be proud of.

Filmed in my city. My city, which is rising from the ashes, just outside my front door. Nobody, and I mean nobody, works harder, and fights against the odds more than Detroit. Detroit vs. Everybody is not just a saying, it's how we Detroiters live. Yes, I know WCAR, is from Metro Detroit, but seeing this just reminds me that people can't forget about Detroit, and people can't help but read the headlines outlining how Detroit is coming back stronger than ever. If you're not with us, you're against us. If you doubt, laugh at, or turn your back on Detroit, don't ever step a foot within the city limits. The World I Used To Know will never be seen again, but a new world is forming just in front of our eyes. My Detroit is forming in front of my eyes.

I don't listen to WCAR that much anymore. But I remember how I discovered them back in 2008. I was browsing internet for some post hardcore bands and I got redirected to a page where were about 1000 pages of music links. I randomly clicked let's say 684th page and found their DREAMS EP. I remember that time they had excluding songs from DREAMS 2 live show videos and around 1400 scrobbles on last.fm. Since that day I started following them, growing as a bigger band supporting another great bands on tours and what's more they became headliners on many tours. So this band is a bit magical for me. And I am very happy for them that they made it.

Love or hate this band, no one will ever tell me that they aren't one of the most influential bands. The lyrics are so powerful. If more mainstream (shitty pop, rap, etc.) bands could write like they do, I'd probably acknowledge that mainstream sound as being real music

Seriously guys. Stop complaining. If you don't like the new stuff, Listen to WCARS old albums! They've said that they are changing their sound. That's it. The band is still the same group of sweet dudes, the only difference is the sound change. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but really it is kind of redundant to continue to say, "OH THIS IS SO DIFFERENT NOTHING LIKE TPAS OR UWWGTB. Like guys, they've said it many times- THEYRE GOING INTO A NEW DIRECTION. We came as Romans will always be amazing in many ways. if you're not a fan of their new stuff, stick to the old. They still play old songs from every album in concert. Just be quiet and enjoy whatever you enjoy, while those of us who love this are enjoying all of WCAR.

All of you people bitching about the new sound, you obviously haven't read anything that they said in interviews about this album. They really worked together on this album, even if you don't think it. You can't just have the same sound forever either, or else you wouldn't be progressing as an artist. Progression with a band's sound makes them more mature and let's them discover talent they may not have seen before. I mean look at Dave! His cleans are so much better on this album than they are on TBR. You gotta give him credit for that. As Telle Smith (I know, different band) tweeted "We can't be afraid of change bed has stagnation begins the death of art. Progression is natural evolution & our passionate fans are the difference between us & the current mainstream. Our world is loyal, supportive, & open minded. Go prove it to the world." That's coming from an artist who's supported WCAR and knows what it's like to change sound as well. Learn something from that.
@bluesmiles59 жыл бұрын
And to continue, yes I do absolutely love TPAS & UWWGTB, but I also love the newer albums as well. They all have had meaning to me somehow and made WCAR my favorite band. I dare all of you who are bitching to actually go up to WCAR and say it to their faces if you still can't figure it out. Hell, I sure wouldn't. I met them and they're some of the most wonderful people you'll meet. Wouldn't want to ruin that now would you? Good luck
