Check out the last couple day in Mammoth as we remove massive amounts of snow along with trucking operations. Weather gave us a window we had to take it. Follow along see how it went.

You guys are doing the hard work of keeping Mammoth Lakes somewhat clear of snow and moving. Without you guys the city and entire area would come to a halt. You do a great job of clearing and moving this heavy snow. What is next more snow building even higher plies everywhere? Spring is hear and soon lots of melting snow with water creeks, streams, small pools and small lake everywhere. Every water flowing path is blocked by heavy snow and ice. All that water is on its way down to hot creek and to fill Crowley and the Owens river. Big flooding is coming real soon. All it takes is for a few warmer weeks above freezing.

That house and the others at the 8:28 mark...holy $*&t! Those houses are _entombed_ to the point where saying they're "buried" just doesn't cut it anymore. That's a terrifying amount of snow to be able to cover a house that much. Also, the system your "hands team" has set up at the 11:11 time is oddly satisfying, in the way it makes efficient use of their manual power. I actually described something just like this many videos back, in a short comment discussing the biophysics of human snow removal, although I doubt my comment was the reason for you landing on this fairly straightforward and effective solution.

I wonder if this was like the amount of snow they had when the Donner party was stuck in the mountains. The good news for business is you guys will probably be moving snow into the early summer because a lot of that has to be moved so it doesn’t flood people’s houses out as it thaws and you guys get rain.

in Poland, in the Polish Tatras, the highest mountain in Poland, Rysy, 2,499 meters above sea level, and in Slovakia, Gerlach, 2,650 meters above sea level (the mountains are winter in a different way to the Carpathian Mountains). in the past, winters were better in the lowlands in my eastern Poland, as the wind blew from Ukraine and Belarus from the east, north-east). You will need so much snow because from what I see you sometimes have fires. Regards, Beautiful America, we also have Poland, 322,000 km, sea, mountains, highlands, lakes. For your flat roof top job, have you tried using a hand saw to cut the snow into large blocks to put on your sled shovels? It should allow you to carry much more snow per trip and make the job go quicker. There is lots of youtube videos showing snow saws being used to clear snow off roofs in japan.

At 3:21 that car in the way reminds me of years ago that Pete a co-owner of this apartment complex had his front end loader put some vehicles out of the way so he could use the same loader and plow the parking lot. Between 5:35 to 6:52, how can people get through there especially the last seconds of this portion of the video? VERY CAREFULLY!!!! At 30:25 that scene reminds me of videos of the San Juan Mountains in Southwestern Colorado in Spring 2019. It was estimated of 800 inches on highest peaks 12,000 to 14,000 plus peaks. I never heard in my life that people could drive through a previous avalanche(s) like happened in late Spring 2019 there in those mountains. The snowfall in the Sierra Mountains this season likely rival what happened in Colorado that season. Here's a sample of KZbin videos then. 1. Animas Forks Road 2018-2019 avalanches 2. Corkscrew Clutch 2018-2019 avalanches These are on 4x4 off road mountain dirt roads like driving a Jeep.

Wouldn't it be faster to use snowblowers on Von's building and transfer the snow to the edge using snowblowers? Throw it as far as the machine can then throw it to the next step and keep doing that until it's over the edge. Machines can do more work than men and the men have to be getting run down.
@briane173
@briane173 Жыл бұрын
I'm assuming for the moment that the channels they're cutting will allow for blowers to maneuver up there; the only issue is with such a wide roof, blowers are just gonna blow snow from one part of the roof to another and not over the side. So it wouldn't save them a ton of work in the long run.

Have you got something pratical? There is a lot of open ground there big enough for a solar furnace. My other idea was a 'conveyor belt'. Theycould talk to the ski lift operators as well suggesting a bucket lift. Could carry snow away for a mile or more with out post build labour. Snow blowers could cut in to the snow all day blowing snow on to a conveyor belt. Then the 10 guys pushing shovels could do anout a hundred times as much per hour blowing the snow on to the belts.
