Someone profits from the divide, and they are quite willing to lie about their involvement in corruption. ~~~ Also, they don't want you to know who they are or what they really want, so they lie to make you think it's the other party doing all the evil. ~~~ Heal the divide.

I know this won't make me popular here, but we need to move more mining back to the US if we don't want to suddenly be shut off from resources necessary for electronics/solar panels/lithium batteries when the US goes to war with china over Taiwan (because unless we leave Taiwan high and dry--it's a when)... NIMBYs (not in my back yard) and overregulation are rather massive hurdles to this. Corruption is bad, I agree; but we need to loosen the reigns a little if we want domestic mining to succeed.
