This was so much fun to watch but I want to let you know that because of seeing this a while back now, when my power went out for the whole weekend last weekend I couldn't have been more grateful to have seen this!! I headed out to the shops when I got up on Saturday morning noticing that my power was out, and knowing I couldn't get in touch with my property manager until Monday, but had this up my sleeve thanks to you guys doing it and showing us, thanks so much!! Where most people would be getting takeaway and spending loads more I went to buy a bunch of tealight candles and then went back home, knowing with confidence that because I'd seen Katie do it so successfully I could make myself dinner and other food for the weekend, all because I'd got some trusty candles!! I made zucchini "cheesy" rice which did take well over an hour to make, but I did "fry" off the zucchini slices first before adding the rest of the ingredients to the pot. I figured rice grains would take longer but were a similar concept to cooking oats, and wanted something satisfying and filling. Like you said though, putting a lid on did make quite a difference!! I will say strangely though, even with putting a lid on, I couldn't get water to a rolling boil in order to have a good cup of tea, the water got hot and steamy and there were small to medium sized bubbles at the bottom of the milk pot (chose this to boil the water thinking it had a spout for easy pouring) but I couldn't get the water to boil well enough?? I still drank the tea happily though, sitting amongst pretty glowing candles in my lounge room and feeling very successful all the same, knowing I had a hot cup to hold on a very cold night to warm up my hands, and that was good enough for me! I too am very resourceful and don't often take the easy way out, always wanting to find a solution! Thanks! :)
@FamilyFreedom6 ай бұрын
Ah thank you so much for sharing this! It was so awesome to read how you took what we did in this video and implemented it into an actual situation where it was needed - it's so cool! Well done you for being so resourceful over that entire weekend!! 👌

OMG I have just found you guys and am binge watching your videos. You are amazing, I love your energy. Your videos are the best. Here in Bath Somerset we don't have Home Bargains, Asda, Iceland or Farmfoods.. Bristol is nearest and we don't drive. We do online shopping which can be a headache as you have to spend £40 before they will deliver (then delivery on top) I love Iceland, once again they closed our branch down, can order from Iceland which is great. Sorry I am waffling but I think supermarkets should lower the amount you have to spend before they deliver, it would help out so many families xx

When you say kids don't try this at home, I think you should also say this includes Abbie!! Despite being a fully grown adult. 😂 My lighter is one that charges by wire...
