Tom Jones is pure legend! A voice unparalleled. Back in the day when kissing on the mouth was not feared, the funky chicken dance dominated, kids drinking out of garden hoses was a nightly thing and nobody died from it, ALL kids in the neighborhood played baseball in the street until nightfall, the "bomb-pop" man drove by every evening to bring us popsicles for a dime, and the Ed Sullivan show guests were what we anticipated ALL WEEK. EVERYONE got along. A great time to be alive.

Those were the good old days! Standing and hanging out on the street talking more smack about each other and their mommas! Roller skating with sidewalk skates. Pumping two people on your banana seat and handlebar bike. Someone behind you on the seat and someone else sitting on the banana handlebars tryna get to the front yard before the streetlights came on. Awesome time to be alive! The late 60s and all throughout the 70s

Elvis Presley was in concert in Vegas, Tom Jones wanted to meet Elvis, his idol. Both were so nervous when they met in Elvis's suite. They had so much admiration for each other. Tom always said, when I ever get as good as Elvis, I will know that I have finally made it...Elvis thought the same thing about Tom. They became very close friends. Much respect was given to the other. Watch the documentary on their friendship. Thank you both.

Sir Tom isn't a crooner, he started out as a soul singer. Crooners are people such as Bing Crosby, Perry Como and to an extent Frank Sinatra. Roy Head did the original version of this fabulous song. A big ballad by him is "Delilah" which I think Amber in particular would like.

@@BertSmithLondon This is why elvis is so iconic. Elvis could scream like a young punk rocker in the 50's. Then, he had the smooth velvet vocals of a crooner. Then he had the raw soul of "if I can dream" and the American recordings of 1969. And don't forget the powerful yet smooth opera sound on 1960's. "It's now or never" The king was all over the map musically. Tom Jones was also amazing.

Frank Sinatra was one of his biggest fans. If Tom Jones had a show in Vegas, Sinatra would leave his own show in a rush to catch the end of Ton's act. Sinatra dubbed Tom "The Voice". He's the inspiration for that show, which is why it is so great they finally got him to be a judge. BTW he has a great duet with Janis Joplin from when he had his own TV show. He featured LOTS of rock and roll and R&B artists too.

Tom Jones Wife was the most patient woman who has ever lived! They were married in 1957 until her death in 2016. She loved him in spite of a LOT of other women being on the scene. He really lived up to the reputation

He IS THE GREATEST of all time! He is now 81 years old. He looks and sounds as good now as he did when he first burst on to the scene in the 60’s. We see him regularly in the UK as one of the judges on the voice and sometimes treats us with a song. The guy is just amazing.

In the early 1970's, Tom Jones came to Nashville, Tennessee. I worked downtown in the Exchange Building. The news flew around the building that Tom Jones was there! All the women, including myself, ran all over the building hoping for a glimpse or an autograph! It was thrilling!

He was totally totally a ladies man! He was sooo sexy (still is). When I was 12 years old - a loooong time ago - I fell totally in love with him and crushed on him through most of my teen years, while my friends loved Donny Osmond, David Cassidy, etc. Ahhhh, memories. I taped the audio from his TV show on my little cassette player and listened to it daily. My name is the same as his wife's who passed a few years ago, and silly as it was, that meant to my 13-yr.-old self that we had a cosmic connection. I love watching y'all discover him!

Wales, the land of song, is a lovely little country, with the greenery, the hills, mountains, meadows, rivers, lakes and sea. The Green Green Grass of Home and It's Not Unusual are great. Tom certainly had a lot of naughty times with women (understandably), but was married for 59 years to Linda- childhood sweethearts and already parents aged 16- until her death from cancer. Oh, microphones were a Welsh invention!
