I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to wrap my head around finally getting a place to live. We have been living with family for 5 years. After working our butts off all year, we bought our first car, got a place to live, and today bought a washer and dryer. I have been homeless 3 times in my life because of poverty and being the child of a single mother. I know the struggle, and totally appreciate all the little things. Maybe by sharing a piece of my story i can help give someone else some hope!

Becca Mills when I got my first apartment after being single and hopping from house to house to house, I had never felt so thrilled and fulfilled. I was so appreciative to get a house. To buy a fridge. To do my laundry. I was so proud. Go you too! I’m proud of you!!!

New subscriber here, I just love your videos! I wanted to cry almost the entire time watching this. I love how you two are a TEAM. I don’t have that with my fiancé. He doesn’t support me working even shorter night shifts so we wouldn’t have to pay for daycare, and he told me if I want to work I am fully responsible for daycare for our two children, and that it’s dumb for me to work because then all of my money would go to daycare. All of this because he doesn’t want to be home with the kids for a measly 6 hour shift that would give me the mental health break and socialization I need. I’ve been a stay at home mom for going on 4 and a half years and I’m going out of my mind. I truly try to be grateful but it does get tough after a few years, especially with no support system. Not to mention we’re doing pretty poor financially. Luckily my ASD almost 5 year old has always received the support he has needed through the county (early intervention at 2-3 years of age, half day at a sped preschool then full day at 4, and now a 6:1:1 class at our local school started this September).

Every parent tries to do whats right by their children and give things up for them once a parent you know your child comes before anything else even your own needs, but the sacrifices the two of you have made takes a very special type of people, I was blessed with healthy children and I'm not sure if I could do what you do and still stay sane. Youre family is and should be blessed.

My name is Lori. I am a single mom in Indiana. I have two boys on the spectrum. The oldest was dx as severe and didn't talk to he was 11. He currently is moderate He currently is a freshman at Olivet Nazarene University. He received a scholarship that we could not refuse. This is his 8th week at college and he is doing well. My sister lives in the same town. He was a runner until about 12. I can't tell you what a miracle his life is. His name is Isaiah. My Noah has more Aspergers.I am a teacher and my parents helped me out down through the years until they were about 15 and he was able to stay by himself. Academics have always been the strong point for my boys. They have always been the one to pave the way for others because they were they were in gifted classes with special ed help. I think looking back you do what you got to do to get by. I love watching your vlogs and relate to your family well.

My daughter when she was young required so much attention, there were times when I would go our the door just for a five minute break so I could have a cigarette. Back in the day when I still smoked. Even when I took those small breaks I could see her from the window. It was hard! It is hard with Neurotypical kids but it's ten times harder with someone who has Autism like my daughter. I understand what you are saying about it being harder when they get older though. My daughter has progressed enough to be able to live on her own with help, but I honestly worry ten times more now then I did when she was young.

the internet makes getting creative with jobs so much easier! im 19, autistic, have depression, anxiety, and chronic pain, so its really hard to work. plus i have no car and no one will teach me how to drive anyway, so i cant get a 'real job'. but i just started working with a business broker, i just call and email people looking to sell businesses. and im also looking into doing some translating/caption writing online, since im bilingual. each job doesnt pay much on its own, purely because its not real hard work and i dont get a lot of hours, but i have plenty of time to pick up other jobs as needed. i also have plenty of time to do volunteer work in my field of interest, so i can eventually get a career. idk what id be doing without internet tbh, but im very thankful to have it!

I took my daughter who is 6 years old and she is autistic, dmdd and adhd to her cousin's (my nephew) football game. She had a blast cheering him on and booing the other time this was a first for her. I also took her to the movie theaters and to rockin glow bowling which is night time bowling a lot of firsts this year for her and she loved it all. There have been other events I have had to take her and leave due to sensory overload and meltdowns. So I say autism is her superpower. Take one day at a time and keep moving forward. Dont be afraid to try new things. Live your best normal not what everyone else expects to be normal. I post about my daughters yes I have 3 daughters and our journey and adventures on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. But Instagram and Twitter are more about my youngest daughter. I truly appreciate everything you both do, if I wouldn't have found you I would be totally lost and not nowhere near where I am now with my daughter. She is in an autism support class at school, she gets ABA, ot, pt and speech therapy at school there are to paraprofessionals in her class along with the teacher. There are only 8 kids in the class. She goes 5 days a week all day. Tuesdays she goes to acrp to have a session with her concealer for an hour. I am however still on the waiting list for ABA for at home and a tss for her to have more one on one at school. But other then that everything is going fine. Happy birthday Isaiah and Asa I hope they were great and wonderful.

What a great memory to have! That's amazing her school provides so much support, care and special needs. You are incredibly lucky and blessed to have those needs met. I hope one day soon that will be considered a "normal" option within schools instead of luck and blessed. Accessibility to those are far and few between at the moment in general, let alone within a school! I'm so happy to hear you have so much support and resources surrounding you ❤️
