Two things can be true. We weren’t good today but Southampton were horrible and hellbent on playing out from the back even with 10 men. We were shaky defensively and yes we could have scored 10+ goals, however, against a more clinical team we could concede 4+ goals.

Cundy is spot on this team is building towards some very positive things but Arsenal have more experience and will finish above us this season. Next season with some selective improvements and more time under this manager we can have a conversation. Season after that and I think we should be there or thereabouts.

Russ Martin is a terrible manager. An ok foreign manager is twice as good as him. He is too stubborn to recognise his own weaknesses and plays a style of ball which cannot work with the keepers he has. Ramsdale for 30mil was a terrible purchase.l, go to Germany, go to Spain, go to Portugal and get a keeper for 70% less cost and he can play your style of ball better. As a nation we are embarrassing at producing decent managers and keepers and he is then prime example
