I liked your post. I'm sure your grandkids love goodies out of the garden. Yes working in the garden is so calming. I am 69 and have 7 grandkids and 4 great grandchildren. Taught elementary school for 38 years and still volunteer one day a week and full weeks a couple of times a year when needed. The virus put a damper on that this spring. Hope you keep working part time . It tends to keep one young. Watching Hollar Homestead videos is calming too.

Looking great everyone. Such a wonderful blessing to eat you own food. Once your freezer is full and your canning shelves are bulging you will so enjoy the winter eating the yummy cache. Nothing like working chickens who are paid in feed and scraps! Keep well. Orchard is doing great and done trees will die if the fruit is in abundance. Even strawberries should not bare fruit the first year. We have rabbits that will eat the bark of fruit trees in winter so we wrap chicken wire a few inches out. from the stock. Such a successful gardening tour!

Hello beautiful people Ben, Meg, Boys and Baby. Those fruit trees will thank you all with an abundance of fruit later. This is into the third year fruiting season, which l didn't let the trees produce the first 2 years after planting this year the plum, pear, apple and peach trees are so loaded, l needed to remove some of the fruit, fearing l might lose branches if l didn't. I'm looking forward to seeing the all new additions or changes as they come about, especially those new 🐖 🐖 keep up the good work.

I'm growing a lilac hedge right now, and you can get them to grow twice the amount by pruning off the seed heads as soon as the flowering is done. Not as painful as plucking fruit though 😊 Our fruit threes are 5 to six years old now and with proper pruning are producing massive juicy apples and cherries now!
@allicianeuenfeldt39544 жыл бұрын
My husband and I have started a container harmed in southeast Idaho. We are too on the search for our forever homestead. We have learned a lot about tomato plants. They need some help pollinating because they have male and female pollinators. Of you go out and use your hand to disturb the blossoms you will get a higher yield of tomatoes and also pull off the lower limbs of the tomato plants. If the plants are indeterminate pluck off the suckers( these can also be replanted for more plants) the determinant plants you do not want to pull off the suckers. Maybe you already know this, maybe not. Warned my heart to see people praying over their food, not something you see much anymore. Always stay humble and give thanks! Many blessings from ours to yours! ❤️❤️

Another wonderful video. I love seeing your progress. I originally subscribed because I saw your family praying over a meal. It was great to see that still in practice in this video. You are spot on with your fruit trees. Leviticus 19:23 "When you enter the land and plant any kind of fruit tree, regard its fruit as forbidden. For three years you are to consider it forbidden, it must not be eaten". The Good Lord has given us direct instructions :) Your whole family is rockin this and I love following your journey. Thanks for taking us along. God Bless and keep you all.

A note about volunteer tomato's. If you put ANY tomato's in your compost, you will get them. It's fine if the original tomato was heirloom or a good quality natural tomato but it is an absolute nightmare if the tomato was purchased as a potted plant from someplace like Home Depot. The reason is that most store bought tomato plants are raised from Monsanto seeds. They are genetical designed to produce one crop of the correct tomato but their seeds produce towering plants with thousands of flavorless cherry or grape tomato's and they spread like weeds. I am speaking from experience. Try to avoid putting tomato's in your compost. ;)

Um, all unstable hybrids work like that, whether GMO or not. Monsanto did not invent F1 hybrids, no matter what nonsense they may be spouting.

I am sorry but must disagree with you. My store bought cherry tomatoes reseeded themselves last year and they were phenomenal! They tasted delicious and were so prolific. So much so that late at the end of the season I smashed a bunch into the soil hoping they would seed themselves again. They are growing by the multitudes,still small,time will tell if this season is also a success. I also germinated a bunch of hothouse tomatoes this spring,time will tell on those too but the germination rate was great!

👍👍👍. Am very new to y’all but have seen several of your early videos being in from California/West Coast area. I’m so impressed with your story and how you found “forever” home. I had moved to TN/KY a very long time ago just as winter hit so thought it truly was heaven. Then the heat and humidity hit with no warning and oh how missed dry heat from Calif. A 250 acre farmer saved me by saying to get up early 4 am and work til so hot then take a nap in cool area until early evening then put on a headlamp and work some more until dog tired. I can survive on little sleep but it was the best advice. Body had to get use to humidity in about two years and change of work habits was the best. Hard when you’re pregnant at worse time of year though. And getting older too. You’ve accomplished a lot so far and boys have gotten to ages that they can work some too. Just enjoy everything and learn new ways in new area and know it all takes time. And maybe for now don’t make things in garden picture perfect.....just functional and things will grow. Just like those “wild” tomatoes their seeds know what to do. Your editing skills even if content all over the place is perfect and fascinating. Your new journey has me captivated and your desires and passions spellbounding. Thanks for this awesome break from all the craziness in the world. 💖👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
