I'm a wife and a working, expressing mom to a 5 month old. When I get home and have my baby down for the night, watching you is my 'me time'. Thank you for your content, someone appreciates it more than you know ❤

I found y’all from Yvette’s brothers podcast on the table w/AO & I absolutely LOVE YALL , y’all reminded me why me and my partner are not in a rush to get married. We are working on ourselves especially our mental health because we never focused on that before getting together but still made sure we were friends first before anything else. I appreciate the transparency it’s very refreshing especially for the black community ❤❤❤ God Bless Y’all 🙏🏽🙌🏾!!!👋🏾

Hi Esther! Welcome to the Wedding Party. 🤗 I absolutely LOVE that your both are prioritizing your mental health and getting to know yourselves in a more intimate way before marriage. Sooooo valuable. ♥

Many people have a very fixed mindset about "socializing"...your kids have each other...they interact with you... they get out in the community...they play sports...they've been to events, etc...they are socialize all the time...what people really want to say is "how are you exposing your kids to the world"...the world is all around them...and it's overrated especially if you're trying to raise your kids with a kingdom/Christ centered focus

So true. I was home schooled until 9th grade and, between church, sports, siblings, and homeschool groups, I had tones of social interactions. But there are things you miss. There cultural things that you mostly get at school that you miss if you're homeschooled. And it kinda makes you stand out for the rest of your life. I don't think it's a bad thing but it's definitely a thing.

I absolutely love seeing more black families homeschooling. We have been homeschooling from the beginning for all those reasons and more. Even up here in Canada. All the best to you all I have been watching this podcast from the beginning and love how intentional you are with the way you parents and nurture your marriage.

If she feels the pressure to get an additional job to provide, why does he not feel the pressure to get an additional job to provide? He’s to be the provider. If she picks up the financial slack (AGAIN) she’ll never get out of (his) role and she’ll resent him for having to be the (co)-man for the family. I recommend she sits tight and make due with what she currently has. And let that financial pressure build so that HE will step up. Also, guilt doesn’t have to be a perpetual part of parenting. It tends to be the result of incomplete planning and poor choices that render less than ideal results that can’t be easily undone. She’s at a point where she’s about to make a decision. This doesn’t have be a choice (getting another job) that’s going to be the foundation for guilt later. Take care of your baby. Let him take care of the finances… even if it takes him a minute to get it that he needs a better job. It’s only entrepreneurship if it’s successful. Anything else… it’s more a hobby. And married men and fathers are not allowed hobbies in place of real jobs.

I think that was solid advice. If they can come up with a timeline, maybe for the time being she can work extra and they can have a solid savings plan for the extra money? My husband and I are doing something similar. I hope it works for them. I understand wanting to homeschool or be able to spend more time at home with your child

I absolutely agree w/boundaries & the covenant of marriage. For me, my best friend cut me off after 30yrs of friendship when he got married. How it happend, no communication to me is what had me so angry. I found out he got married through social media. This was before I realized our friendship was over. I spoke to him once after he got married, early 2023 expressing how I felt. Since then we haven’t spoke. I was just appalled at how all this went down after being friends for so long.

I was so bad about scheduling my kids dentist appointments and not showing up that they put me on a special list. They text a week prior, text the day before and call the day before. If I don’t confirm both and answer the call, they cancel my kids appointments. That’s shameful!

Make the kids floss and oil pull every night for ten minutes. That might save you a few trips to the dentist 😂

I love that you're giving your kids the opportunity to call you out if needed (but respectfully...lol!). I think this will teach them how to communicate in a productive and respectful manner that will help them in future relationships/friendships/employment....
