Yeah the 304 wranglers were at least financially attainable to most people. Almost 80 grand is getting pretty close to having another mortgage payment. The 5.7 I think would have been fine for a jeep especially a 2 door wrangler.

Sticker on mine was around $93K and then a $10K dealer markup and the rolling over my upside down from my trade I ended up paying $108K for mine. I put zero money down and walked away with almost $1600 a month payments. My TRX is as fully loaded as you can get though

The 2nd and 3rd Gen already destroys the TRX in approach/departure/breakover angles and wheel travel. Interior quality alone in the Raptor eclipses over that TRX. Infotainment is lackluster as reviewed by straight pipes. Sinister Scat raced the 3rd Gen and TRX and it was neck and neck, once Ford goes V8 its a full lockout. 90K truck but transmissions being destroyed in under 2K miles, towed out by a Raptor lmao. Plastics holding the battery and coolant reservoir behind the front bumper, after one jump it breaks. Plastic filled control arms, and front heavy, as seen by SS717, 3rd Gen jumps better.

77k for that jeep is a little too steep. A fair price would be like 50 to 55k. I mean the rear leg room, no insulation from the road, and it does not have the Ram's luxury features. If I pay 77k or hell up to 80k for a vehicle plus dealer fees and taxes, you better belive I'm gonna have to live with it too. Ram wins for me by a long shot. The jeep is for that dude with crazy money but has a passion to off road everyday. I don't need to off road everyday lol.

Having owned multiple 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks to now owning a Wrangler and a Gladiator I would take the Wrangler 392 over the TRX all day. Neither of these are highly practical vehicles- they’re for fun, and for fun you cannot beat the open air experience of a Wrangler. Throw a V8 into the mix and the fun factor of this Wrangler will be off the charts. Not to mention having seen a TRX in person- it is absolutely massive. Now if Jeep will only give me a V8in a Gladiator...

They definitely aren’t. I have a couple of time slips in the glovebox of my two door JL with a 6m. Neither time was great, but I ran out of time at the test and tune. It sure did make people smile though when they saw it line up!

I have searched KZbin and have not found a drag race between the TRX and the Jeep 392 Extreme Recon. Remember the XR version of the 392 sports 4.56 gears vs 3.73 on standard 392. In addition, it also is speed limited at 110 mph which means the 1/4 mile won't be governer limited. It does not hit the limiter until 110 - 112 mph. That is enough to make it through the quarter mile without hitting the limiter. The 4.56 gears afford a better torque hole shot and power band and the higher speed limiter opens up the high-end HP performance. I want to see the 392 XR vs TRX in a drag race!!!!! I think it will be too close to call. Common man! Make it happen.

Just looked on Autotrader for all Wrangler 392s to see how bad dealer markup is. To my surprise only a few had them marked up. More had small discounts than ones that had markups. Largest markup I found was $10k and largest discount I saw was about $4k off. And the 4xe is also on dealer pages for around $50-$55k.

Our large volume dealer has two at MSRP. One actually has a sell pending sticker on it. Surprised no widespread markup considering the decades of desire from enthusiasts for a Hemi Wrangler. But Jeep can't go too crazy with the Bronco on the horizon.

@@hellkitty1014 I’m guessing with the price already over $70k a markup would put it well into TRX money. At that point I’m taking the 702 hp. I saw one that was marked up to $85k. I’m not so sure how afraid of the Bronco Jeep is right now. Ford keeps dragging their feet getting it to market.

@@knifetoucher You raised the question of price and value. The purchase price is only part of the total cost. Secondly, it's not true that the cost of gas is small compared to the price of the truck. The TRX gets 12 combined MPG. Put on 100k miles, that's $30,000 in gasoline.
