We Drove to The Dead Centre of Australia (for only $1)

Join us as we take on our ultimate outback adventure with a 4WD journey to the geographical centre of Australia. As much as we love our van dingo, we wanted one last extreme outback memory, and we knew for this we would be heading off road. At the time of filming this was a struggle as all rentals in Alice Springs were closing for Christmas and wet season, so it was an absolute miracle to get a relocation but it had to be returned before they closed for the season! So join us on part one as we journey towards the centre of Australia to experience the most remote place we will probably ever be. P.s Don't worry though guys we had an emergency GPS locator and 150litres of water on board to keep us going if the worst happened.

⤈ WHO WE ARE ⤈
We are Philly and Keely and we live full time in our tiny home on wheels Martha. After building our DIY home in a Citroen Relay camper we spent a year living on the streets of London before quitting our jobs only to be met with lockdown. Then we took our van further than she had ever been before to the very beautiful Turkey. Enroute, we stopped off in Spain for a few weeks where we experienced every van lifers worst nightmare, we were robbed and they stole all valuables in our van. But then we were back on our feet, fully MOT’d and back on the road through Europe before we experienced another vanlife nightmare... our van caught fire!! After the trauma of that we had a massive change of plan and made our way to Japan. We enjoyed a three-month Japanese Adventure and then got back to Martha for some new European Adventures. After an incredible three-month Scottish road trip, we have now packed up our van and are heading to Australia for a new van life adventure!

I love your videos every single week! But I was really touched and grateful that you shared about epilepsy. The more we spread awareness, the better. My brother got into a car accident, and when they took him to our rural hospital every medical professional who walked in said, “People with epilepsy shouldn’t drive.” It was demeaning - his accident had nothing to do with epilepsy and his neurology team had determined no issues with driving. Anyway, so glad you are doing so well! Can’t wait to see the next video.

That's terrible he experienced that after being cleared by the neurologist! Obviously if someone is actively having seizures then 💯 should not be driving, but if it's under control then it's so unfair for them to try and blame that! Sending you and your brother lots of love!

Yeah the Locator was good for peace of mind out in the middle of nowhere, good to know I'm case of emergency we had a way of getting help ❤️💪 trust yourself you are braver than you know. I hope you do something outside of your comfort zone this week and report back to us (doesn't have to be driving to the centre of Australia, maybe a wildswim or talking to a stranger or something) 🥰 life has lots of little opportunities for bravery ❤️💪

🚐 🚐🚐🚐🚐 hats off you you Philly, a great bit of driving from you both this week 👏🏼 I’m currently almost 5wks done with the ankle pod so it’s been great to have you guys helping with my boredom. I was up there with your excitement of getting the walkie talkies as I have similar plans. My first van conversion is on hold til the ankle is sorted and once completed moving it on to my friend. Long story short as I’m a carer for my parents I have the time to build both vans slowly at home and have a couple of yrs to get them done. She’ll be moving down to me in Cornwall and we plan to pootle about locally until the stage next of our lives when we can hit the open road. Now, guys the first aid kit….. 4 plasters 🤣😂🤣😂 and Keely, coffee in bed…. Pills a keeper! Loving you’re enthusiasm on this trip, you’re doing a brilliant job at documenting the trip, drive safely xx

Great Videos guys! I travelled along much of the same path you guys did on my way to Perth back in the 80's. I thought the Victorian and SA coast was the highlight of the trip. Blown away by those massive cliffs and ocean! Nothing else like that in all of Oz. Fun fact: The flag pole structure in the center of Australia is modelled after the one on our national parliament. Glad you guys went there to document the center of Australia. I never knew it was a thing and would never venture out there myself, so thanks again. 😄
