I went to the Australian Zoo many years ago with my kids. We had travelled to Brisb'n for BMX championships. Our friends had a relative who worked there, so we got a backstage pass to the Koala hospital. We have a photo of my kids holding a koala and a baby crocodile. We also went to Seaworld, and my son was chosen to have photos with the dolphins. Both great experiences. They have also raced in Cairns, so they've been to the Great Barrier Reef. It is just beautiful. They have also raced in South Australia, both in Adelaide at a World Title event and Mount Gambier, and twice in Shepparton, Victoria. Their first event they entered was in Perth, WA. They were tiny then. My son had quit when my daughter entered her last Nationals in Bunbury, the South West of WA. That was over 10 years later. Amazing times travelling. If you get a chance to do it, grab it with both hands. There is so much to see. You won't be disappointed.

The Bush/Brush Turkey was building a nest. They spend months back-kicking leaves and sticks into a volcano-looking mound. The nests can get to 1.5 metres tall and 2 to 3 metres in diameter. The decaying vegetation is what incubates the eggs. They crater out the top and then fill it back in to control the temperature of the nest. I bloody love'm - see the same crew every day at work:) My best mate is Yellowbeard, (cause he's a male with a larger and more colourful throat pouch, and he lost an eye in a fight). Have a great stay in Aus. Great vid! (Good place to raise kids😉). Crikey!!

p.s. pretty good Aussie accent you've got there. It's demonstrably hard for most Poms and for most Seppos. Same with the South African and Kiwi accent.

It is true. Biggest legal case in Australian history, Azaria Chamberlain was eaten by a dingo and her mother was sent to jail for it. It was at Uluṟu (Ayers rock) not on an island.

@@EatVentureVlog The famous quote from the case "the dingo's got my baby". Meryl Streep played the part of Lindy Chamberlain and Sam Neill played her husband Michael Chamberlain in the 1988 film about the incident "Evil Angels". Fraser Island Dingoes are considered the most pure bred because of the isolation on the island and the island is a National Park so no other dogs are allowed. Children have been severely mauled and killed by the Fraser Island Dingoes. People who grow up in the city just don't understand how dangerous Dingoes can be.

There are basically 3 Aussie accents. Received English which sounds posh and tries to mimic a Queen's English accent, general, which most Australians use, and broad, which is more nasal and common outside big cities kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJ_MoHebhrOfrrM In South Australia they tend to say charn- ce, darn ce, Frarn-ce, whereas elsewhere it's dan-ce, chan-ce, Fran-ce. Vocab is far more different between States. eg case, carton, slab, or tube of beer; or swimmers, bathers, cossies, togs, depending on which State you're in.

Yes recently a child was attacked by a dingo on Frazer Is Just a note on the wombats and koalas they both have pouches but they face backwards. A handy a deputation. They dig so the pouch could fill up with dirt. The koala climbs a tree so the twigs could get into the pouch. Amazing ?

We should resist defining Australian animals as some weird bootleg copy of a European animal. They're not. They are the unique products of evolution in Australia and they have survived pretty well until we arrived. Some are unparalleled examples of viability in their own niches, eg the snakes and lizards.
