i really like this Handycap method. i've seen several others attempted and i didn't really like them. this one feels good to me, and plays good, and we still get to see the crazy cards in play, but also more INOVATIVE tactics instead of just "i drop 6 big terror cards and you're dead."

I've never noticed this before, but at 33:58 you can see a player marker moving around on the Impulse card map while Ren's holding it; I'm guessing Beef used locator maps for at least some of the cards, and we're seeing him moving around on the map space, probably as he's making some of the cards for the expansion pack.

Ooof, Doc's deck is scary. Yes, you won, but you also drew your cards pretty much perfectly while Doc had a nerfed version of his deck and not the best luck on his card draw. He is an end boss, and you just beat his first phase.

It wouldn't have swung the game at that point, but you forgot that Impulse was burned and missed out on 20 damage for a couple of turns. Also, Xisuma does poison. It also does an extra 20 each turn (same as burning), but if someone tried to stop the effect by using a water bucket vs milk bucket, it wouldn't be the correct remedy. Calling out the correct effect is important to the game play.

@@mikoajpietrych6168 it’s an interesting question that I’ve never seen come up in any of their games. I know you can have multiple status effects in Minecraft in general, but with the TCG, there’s only one spot next to each player for a status effect. I don’t know what Beef’s exact rules are, but my guess is you would only have a single status effect at any give time, with the last triggered one being active.

Great match! I love the monostone deck. A few comments about the match: 26:48 Xisuma inflicts the enemy with poison, not burn (it doesn't change anything when the opponent doesn't have water or milk buckets though) 31:41 When Doc used the clock, shouldn't Grian lose 20HP from poison even if the turn was skipped ? 33:04 When you switched out to Impulse, I think you should have kept the second Tango in your hand until next turn; this way Doc doesn't know 40 extra damage is coming. It wouldn't have changed anything this time, but it could help. 35:18 Doc played a lava bucket then both of you forgot about the burn!

Also, on the very first turn, I think Doc should have skipped the entire turn - no putting Stress on the table. Because, as I understand, the second player only shows (and commits to) what they will place on their turn. If they have a turn

I don't believe that is how Boomer is intended to work. You should get plus damage for Tango once. To get +80 you would need one Bdubs and one Tango. Beef mentioned that when he finished the card.

This might be an annoying comment BUT: According to Xisuma's HC TCG website, which is supposed to have the same rules as on the server, you can't have more than 1 of the same Ultra Rare card and no more than 3 Ultra Rares in total. You also can't pick the clock from the discard pile with the chest. ALSO, Impulse's passive isn't for EVERY afk boomer, it's for every OTHER afk boomer meaning if you have 2 Tangos as afk it still counts as 1 boomer but 1 Tango and 1 Bdubs counts as 2. Who am I to tell them how to play their game though and that website has gotten a few of the rules wrong as well so IDK for certain what's objectively right. Anyway, love the content, love the TCG, love the collabs etc :)

There's two reasons the rarity issue might be mitigated for them. The first is that the rules of the online game are more easily changed and therefore changes can be made early there (or possibly even tested there.) The second is that these episodes are pre-recorded anywhere from 0-3 weeks before uploading depending on a ton of factors, so even if the rules are updated in the server, you won't see those changes in some episodes for awhile.

As for the boomer thing: one of each was what Beef meant when he originally made the card, but it's not what he actually wrote. When that discrepancy came up he decided to go with what the card actually said. They've been playing it that way for weeks now.

I'm a big fan of the Boomer Redstone deck. The fact that Boomer is not dependent on the coin flip is a boon for my mental health and balances the intermittent frustration of Etho and Xisuma, who habitually misplace their lava bucket and poison pot shulker boxes. Personally I keep a couple builder Bdubs in there too just for the sake of not being mono red and seeing his awesome face as the TNT flies.

I think that there should be 3 end bosses, their arena should have something unique and special like a pixel art badge or something and if you defeat them you get a pumpkin reskinned as their badge there should also potentially be a mega area, with capability a special for 1 v 2 and 2 v 2 the player with the most badges can then fight for the role of an end boss and knock out one of the top 3 replacing them, and then they build their own area and badges the replaced end boss can keep their arena but maybe cover the badge on the base with vines or something and then they try to re take their position :p

I think nerfing or capping the mumbo damage could work. Right now the base is 40 which scales to a max of 400 (5 hermits, 2 coinflips) and the avg is roughly 240. If reduce to 30 dmg, we get max 300 avg 150, 20 dmg gets 200 max 100 avg. Else you could say only flip for each UNIQUE prankster. So I think there's 3 unique pranksters so that's only a max of 240, and avg of 120 at the regular 40 dmg. I limiting to unique pranksters is better for now, since straight damage nerfs still have ridiculous scale.

Mumbo has 40 base damage, add 40 per heads in 2 coinflips. If you have any prankster afk and flipped at least 1 head, you double the attack's damage. That's all. There's nothing like adding more damage per afk prankster. It has a max of 2 heads with 1 afk prankster (40+40*2 = 120 * 2 = 240)

Xisuma gives hermits poison not fire. Also I don’t think people should be allowed to play single use effect cards on turn 1 even if they don’t do damage. Also, I wonder if you can stack the fire effect with the poison effect. I think you should be able to stack them.
