I can't remember the name of the video, but they did one where they talked about the layout of the house (before it was finished being built) and showed blueprints where they had planned those shelves. That could be helpful until they do an actual house tour Edit: the videos were "We got a 3D model of our house" and "Building a cat friendly house in Japan". The latter also has other examples in magazines they show
@RachelandJunAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Since we were building our house from scratch we got to design the layout with cat walkways in mind! We started with ideas we wanted--a floor-to-ceiling climbing pole for Nagi, an open-air living room so the cats could climb to the 2nd floor, and space around the kitchen so they could watch Jun cook. So we primarily put walkways connecting all those pieces. We still have some additional cat walkways to build but we'll do a full cat house tour once those are done!

Hi Rachel 7 Jun, love the make over of the screens I have a room divider with the paper used but will be changing it to have family pictures in each square. Rachel this is a trick I learned years ago to help me stay cooler, get some tops made of linen and wear under your bra’s it has a wicking affect and will keep you feeling dry all day long. This is something they use to do in the past as the linen under shirt would be washed all the time but corsets or in your case a bra would not need washing after one wear. Linen is good for keeping you cooler and dryer.

Nothing on KZbin makes me happier than when you guys upload. Y'all are too cute, and your cats are famous movie stars in my book. Great to see more of the house and all the cat pathways. Looks like it all turned out fantastic. The shoji screens turned out really well. Really nice little nook.

This is so beautiful, especially Hina's Spot. I can picture her napping on the cabinet and watching the birds outside

I'm shocked and soooo jealous of how easy it is to change a ceiling light in Japan compared to America. Here in America I have terrible luck with ceiling lights. It takes me like 15 minutes if it's going quickly, but it's more normally half an hour to an hour. But my record was 3 hours because everything was going wrong and I'm just bad it. And you didn't even have to turn off the power in that room from the circuit breaker! Ugh.

Honestly, I just really want a tour of all the cat runs throughout the house, it’s such a cool concept.

I really can't say enough how much it reassures me to see Pichi with her one eye (mostly seeing the state of the missing eye) cause I have a kitten that had to have her eye taken out a year ago and I get overly worried about everything. And finding information about stuff like that is really hard! You mostly find infos for the immediately after not the long term! So seeing that Pichi's "eye" is a bit open and whatnot is really reassuring cause I was freaking out when I first noticed my kitten's eye did that when I'm cleaning it (the rest of the time she squeezes it shut which according to my vet is normal and nothing to worried about)

I'd love to see a video of how your cats enjoy your new house now since you've lived there a while. Anything new about there behaviour or anything they've stopped doing?

everything's coming along so well! it's nice to see these inbetween vids for projects, without seeing the whole of the house building and that little spot for hina, melted my heart

have you heard of kigoroshi? I saw it in a video where the cuts are made smaller than the joining wood and then water and some light hammering is used to bind the joints (two pieces of wood) together without nails or glue. It's really cool

I'd like to say that, although I'll probably never get the snackbox (I'm a very picky eater), I never skip your ads because of the promise of cats. Your videos are always such a joy, I love seeing your life (and cats)! Thank you!

So many good cat moments in this video! And I love how the alcove turned out. Very cozy. You have such good upcycling ideas.

It's funny, I kind of just accepted that you guys bought a second house and just watching. Thinking I'd see you guys work on both houses. But it makes perfect sense that you would show an older video from before the house was torn down. I think it just made things easier to believe you bought a second house then trying to get the timeline straight.

It's really nice to see your new home coming together. You made the nook nice and cozy by adding the Japanese flare. Now, to help get your cats, specifically Poki, to avoid eating some of your house plants, I suggest providing your cats with healthy plants of their own such as cat grass (wheat or oat) and natural catnip plants - not the dried up powdery stuff that comes with cat products. I made a little cat garden area just for my cat which contains cat-safe plants. It makes him feel like he's outdoors and he doesn't bother my other house plants.
