Experience Japan through snacks and Earn $5 off using our code RNJ on your first Sakuraco box through our link: team.sakura.co/racheljunadventures-SC2208 How many video chapters are too many? I figure cat moments should have their own chapters. I would want cat chapters. We figured out how to use the shoji doors from the previous house!! Thanks to you guys for asking about it and inspiring us to brainstorm with them again. I think this is the best way they could have turned out! It gave us a space where we could display a lot of our Japanese things, and also gave Hina her own spot. We love it so much!

Rachel PLEASE watch Paul Sellers, Stumpy Nubs, or Rex Kruger. They are all active woodworking channels. (Paul even used to be an instructor) This should give you a good resource for the technical side of your projects. I don't want to see you have problems with your projects. I've worked in furniture manufacturing for a number of years and my Uncle was a master carpenter and cabinet maker.

@@lonewolfgirl88 Long story short; they bought a sweet Norwegian Forrest Cat from irresponsible breeders so she deteriorated rapidly in health from an easily tested for genetic trait that results in kittens not being able to survive more than 6 months if they're born alive at all ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmbVhqF_bMR0l9U There's some interspliced footage of her, and her decline, later in the linked video to give context of why they were trying to adopt). I can't remember the name of the video, but they did one where they talked about the layout of the house (before it was finished being built) and showed blueprints where they had planned those shelves. That could be helpful until they do an actual house tour Edit: the videos were "We got a 3D model of our house" and "Building a cat friendly house in Japan". The latter also has other examples in magazines they show
@RachelandJunAdventures
@RachelandJunAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
Since we were building our house from scratch we got to design the layout with cat walkways in mind! We started with ideas we wanted--a floor-to-ceiling climbing pole for Nagi, an open-air living room so the cats could climb to the 2nd floor, and space around the kitchen so they could watch Jun cook. So we primarily put walkways connecting all those pieces. We still have some additional cat walkways to build but we'll do a full cat house tour once those are done!

She was FELV+ so her adoption prospects were limited, but seeing your Poki video inspired me to go for it c. 3 years ago and bring her home. My time with her was too short for my liking, but it was very full of love. I have a portrait I painted of her after I brought her home - as she was settling in, she would shyly peek at me over the top of my computer - that I need to get framed to go over my desk too Really enjoyed Pichi chirrups, Poki foghorn, はくの 手 も, and Nagi's zoomies (drug problem??? lol), and cosy nook is beeeeauuutiful

Hi Rachel 7 Jun, love the make over of the screens I have a room divider with the paper used but will be changing it to have family pictures in each square. Rachel this is a trick I learned years ago to help me stay cooler, get some tops made of linen and wear under your bra’s it has a wicking affect and will keep you feeling dry all day long. This is something they use to do in the past as the linen under shirt would be washed all the time but corsets or in your case a bra would not need washing after one wear. Linen is good for keeping you cooler and dryer.

Wow I couldn't guess how they were going to use it at the beginning of the video, but in min 16:33 when I saw the results I loved it so much ! And the light fixture is perfect to give that modern vibe with the traditional shoji doors. Great work interior designers Rachel & Jun ;) Looking forward to seeing the other projects you did around the house and see the final tour of course

As someone who lives in a very tourism heavy state and works in realty, people owning multiple homes is not unheard of to me. 😂 (though I can only ever dream of having two homes!!) anyway, the nook came out amazing! It looks so nice. 😻

I love the upcycling! Make sure to seal the wood so the spray paint doesn't transfer/stain the obi. I made that mistake once with a piece of fabric (thankfully it wasn't anything special)

Oh, what an awesome idea! I loved your tea farm video from a while back? A sakura box exploration video (interview idea you mentioned) would be really cool. It'd totally add a new demension to these snacks and their histories, and the places, which I've already loved seeing your segments for! Those screens came out perfect, and that nook looks incredible, too! Perfect! too cool!

have you heard of kigoroshi? I saw it in a video where the cuts are made smaller than the joining wood and then water and some light hammering is used to bind the joints (two pieces of wood) together without nails or glue. It's really cool

I'm shocked and soooo jealous of how easy it is to change a ceiling light in Japan compared to America. Here in America I have terrible luck with ceiling lights. It takes me like 15 minutes if it's going quickly, but it's more normally half an hour to an hour. But my record was 3 hours because everything was going wrong and I'm just bad it. And you didn't even have to turn off the power in that room from the circuit breaker! Ugh.
