already said before, but the Toby Fox, the guy who primarily made Undertale and its entire soundtrack, directly requested the company that holds copyrights for him to let go of claims. Recently, there was even drama as the company claimed an Undertale-inspired project's OST because it uses motifs from Undertale, and he had to step in and basically tell off the CEO of the company and apologize himself for the CEO's manchild behaviour. Toby Fox is truly a wonderful man

It's because Mettaton's questions and the answers are center-stage and constantly in motion, drawing your eye towards them, while Alphys is off to the side and for the most part motionless, so you don't really notice her answers unless you're REALLY looking around. I only clocked on to it once I hit one of his impossible-to-answer questions and looked around and saw Alphys giving the answer away

Not only that, but she also instantly recognized that it's Toriels old throne. Of course thats just one of all these tiny things and it certainly adds up. The theatrical bit with Metaton singing was a direct reference to a famous scene from Final Fantasy VI. For the Tsunderplane, "tsundere" is a trope in anime, etc, referring to a character who is secretly keen on the main character, but hides those feelings behind a screen of insults and criticisms. For example, Princess Ruto from Ocarina of Time. So it's not like the plane likes you or anything, and you'd better not try anything too mushy with them, but they secretly appreciate it when you get close (but not so close it looks like they're helping you!)

I think the way “Toby intended it” is not necessarily the pacifist run, but actually interacting with the world and really inserting yourself into it, and understanding it. And yeah, she’s amazing at it.

@@Coolgirl_ig_ I definitely think the order you're supposed to do the endings in is Neutral --> Pacifist --> Genocide. You can't do Pacifist until you've completed Neutral and Genocide doesn't work narratively or thematically without you having played the other routes.

You miss out on certain content and lore by skipping it, but I'd argue that if you're the kind of player who wouldn't go for that kind of thing without an audience egging you on, the commentary won't have the same impact. If you wanted to stop at Pacifist, but were forced to go through with Genocide, then the Flowey metaphor doesn't apply to you.

2:46:08 - Ah yes, Serious Mode. Shows up only for few specific fights, but it removes all the funny gags. In case of Noodles, they basically turn into the 2nd strongest heal in the game, only behind Pie.

Well if you have the burnt pan it heals 94 hp which is basically max health, because when you're 19 LV you have 92 HP, and you don't fight anyone at LV 20

This is the best Undertale playthrough I've ever seen, no doubt about it. Your attention to detail is amazing, your theories are on the spot pretty much all the time, and you remember a lot of small things that tbh would be easy to forget. It feels like you are actually playing the game, and then recording, if that makes sense. Not that the other way around is bad, but I find that other youtubers just like to talk a lot over dialogues or just disregard a lot of the world little details that make up for such a good story, in search of being more entertaining, so to speak. I must say, the only thing that you could improve a little bit was on the combat, but in reality that is not even the main point of this game so it's really not a big deal. I suppose that's the hardcore gamer in me getting frustrated haha, but you absolutely make up for it on every other aspect to an outstanding amount. I also loved all the voices, really added to the viewing experience, even if they were different every time ;) It was so so nice to rewatch this story after so long with a playthrough that made it justice! I'll be keeping an eye out for other games you play from now on, cheers :)

I swear I learn new details and little secrets in this game every playthrough I see. There’s an especially cool one Amber did here. I did not know you could call Undyne and get special dialogue after talking to 01 and 02 not letting you pass. But, EVEN COOLER, the new mind control explanation shows up during the actual Royal Guard fight! The dialogue changes just to call back to the concept that monsters think humans have mind control. Such a fun little, easy to miss detail.

You're understanding of the story/characters and how it's all fitting together is crazy good! You seriously have been making a lot of great connections that many players completely forget about by this point (Home looking the same as New Home, the spider bake sale being connected to Muffet, the Golden Flowers and Flowey, Toriel's diary connecting to Sans' jokes). Your dodging skill though... :P I'm glad you're determined to see this through. Also 8+ years after the game has come out and I still got a solid few tears from the New Home section.

Amazing playthrough! Thoroughly impressed. Fun fact: Asgore looked at you with gentle eyes when he first met you, but looked down & refused to look at you upon fighting you. They say its because he was burying his sense of guilt for hurting you. Also, he directly destroyed the Mercy button..meaning to say he felt that he "did not deserve any mercy for what he had done."

I chose the right time to join the patreon, now I can watch you play one of my favorite games early! I didn't know you could stack that many hot-dogs on your head, that's amazing... the amount of things in this game, I love it! This game has it all, including gay knights! And loads of fourth-wall-breaking. Hard to say which I enjoy more! Alphys is very relatable, I get why you cried at that part. I've struggled with not liking myself quite a lot, too. But I'm getting there! Still, it's a process, and I honestly love that this game just hits very hard on an emotional level at multiple points despite all the jokes and funny bits. It just shows how well written all of it is. I love it so much when people start to put together everything the game hinted at and get to the true story of it all, it's so good. And meeting Sans in the hallway of course, especially if you HAVE leveled up because you didn't know any better. This is such a joy to watch you experience, I'm really looking forward to the last episode!

In the so many years of seeing ppl play this game this is the first time I see someone do the "skip Muffet with a spider item" (bit of a shame, her fight is one of the best in the game, though quite challenging) your intuition for a lot of the stuff happening all around the game is really impressive (Most let's players also never actually call Paps and Undyne) And also remebering the deal with the house next to Napsta WOW.

This is the perfect game for you! 🥰 I'm certain that you will figure out how to fight Asgore and get the best ending! *SPOILERS* You're much more observant than a lot of other lets players and you remember tiny details from earlier in the game that give you clues to puzzles or even just explain lore. (Like How you noticed Alphys giving you the quiz answers, drinking the Spider Cider in the Muffet Fight, how Toriel is Asgore's Ex wife and how Asriel is Flowey) You even mentioned how terrifying it would be to fight Sans. That fight is in the Genocide run and... Yeah, Sans is a total BAMF! There are a few things that only activate based on a completely random stat in the game called the "Fun value". I have played the game several times and still only seen online videos of most of those events so... If you're curious you can look them up when you finish the game. Some of them are really random, some of them are funny, and some of them are a little bit creepy and dive deeper into the game world's lore. I don't want to spoil anything, but once you are finished with the game you should look up the lore on Gaster. Who is Gaster? ...Exactly.

When fighting any given Final Boss (Hard mode has Toriel as a final boss but you've been hearing about Asgore for a while as the final boss here) the noodles heal 90 hp by being eaten dry Asgore, ironically, is weird when it comes to this flag and it's not always cleared right so sometimes if you get into a battle after dying to him you keep the "Serious mode" as fans affectionately refer to it. The "Buttspie" as it says in the Item menu and in the battle item menu gets shortened to just... "Pie" lol

it took me a long time but i finally understand the asgore fight. the monsters and then sans tell you that either you are killed by Asgore or you kill him, and it seems stupid because you can only die if you give up and don't try again. but thats the point. if you want to let the monsters escape and get revenge on humanity, you have to stop playing the game. you have to let him kill you, and give up. its similar to a lot of the genocide run: sometimes the game offers you a chance to do the right thing: turn off the game and never come back.

In this episode, you encountered not one, but two separate very small moments that caused me to cry when I first played. The first was Metaton's house. His backstory isn't super important, but it's honestly one of my favorite little bits of the game. Realizing that Metaton was coded as trans straight up caused me to tear up the first time I played this game. The other is the mirror in New Home. The mirror at the start of the game that simply says "It's you!" left such a lasting impression on me that when I found the other mirror at the end of the journey, and are told that "Despite everything, it's still you", when I tell you I *broke down* sobbing, I am not exaggerating. It's my favorite line in the game. One of my favorite lines in all of fiction. It's one I think back to when my depression is at its worst. One that gives me strength and comfort.

@@sanxxxx No, Mettaton went from using they/them as a ghost to using he/him as a robot. It's not super obvious, but this can be seen in a few separate places. First of all, there are 4 ghosts in the game: Napstablook, the Training Dummy, the Mad Dummy, and Mettaton. All of the other three use exclusively they/them pronouns. In addition, the Mad Dummy also uses they/them when talking about Mettaton. While Napstablook genders Mettaton correctly, there is an older record of Napstablook's from before Metaton was put into his current body, and in that older recording, they refer to Mettaton with they/them pronouns. He also had an extremely girly/feminine upbringing. All of this points to him being coded as trans-masculine. This allegory was made even stronger and more explicit in console ports of the game. Console ports added a new boss: Mad Mew Mew. She is the new body of Mad Dummy, and while Mettaton is coded as trans-masculine, Mad Mew Mew is coded as trans-feminine. It's frankly kind of impossible to deny that she is meant to be interpreted as a trans-metaphor if you actually play through her whole fight. Like... literally just watch it, it's plain as day. And it helps to show that the coding with Mettaton was fully intentional. Notably, this isn't exactly the same thing as Mettaton actually being trans. Which is why I didn't say he literally is transgender - I just said he was trans-coded. It's an allegory, not a literal depiction. This is in contrast to Napstablook. You say that "Blooky is coded nonbinary". But that is untrue. They aren't *coded* as nonbinary. They just literally *are* nonbinary.
