I think the guy who made Birdemic deserves huge praise. Not because he made a good movie, which he obviously didn't, but just because he made *a* movie. Many people have dreams of doing something creative, but few people have the courage to go out there and actually make it happen. Even if the end result is really bad, being willing to follow through with a passion project and put yourself out there takes a lot of balls - more than most people have, I feel. The fact that the shoot lasted 7(!) months and he still ended up with some kind of finished product really speaks to his tenacity.

That was pretty excellent, especially the final sequence! I did want to say that for your bird particles in your flocking system, it might have been better to use three different bird models with offset wing animations. Then for each of them, give them a unique flapping speed variation, randomly speeding it up and down. That way, both the flocking behavior and the birds themselves look more realistic.
@TheKenji22214 жыл бұрын

I think if they wanted to change the animation depending on the direction they are flying they would need to manually adjust the animation, at least the way they did it. not sure if there is a easier way to do that besides basically making pretty much a game.
@lolvonlolipopp4 жыл бұрын
I’ve Done some crowd in Houdini so it’s a different workflow but in that software you create different animation states that switches acording to the rules you set. You can also just set the variation of the flaps and speed. Pretty easy you don’t have to manualy change every agent in the crowd for this effect.
