What happens if you don't have a proper whelping box the puppies can get laid on and die. Look up the whelping box what it has is round wooden rods that you put down the sides of the box this stops Mum from being able to lay right next to a wall. So you have 4 wood rods so then the puppies can lay next to the wall but mum can't so that way they are not laid on. It saves puppies' lives special when you have a large breed dog like yours. You can make up a whelping box very easily it's the wooden rods that save lives that are what you need ASAP. Mum needs good food to help her feed the pups. Have you done all the health tests on mum and dad? And how can you get the dates so wrong for her having the puppies. I do hope you have been feeding her right for having the pups growing inside her. Your so lucky she did things by herself with not having to rush her to a vet as you had no clue she was having them, you could have lost her and the pups if things had gone wrong, you really need to be way more responsible when breeding dogs and not having a plan just like when you give birth you have a plan. Please get the whelping box sorted for the sake of the puppies.
