Hurricane Joaquin intensified from a storm into a Cat 4 nearing cat 5 in hours!!! Nobody was prepared for it because it developed in the bahamas where as normally you would have a week long or more forecast about a hurricane and its path. I remember watching it on news at work as a cat1 and got home and watch the news it was a 4!
